I am watching Milan right now and they are crushing Palermo (sure, not the best team). But zlatan scored a hattrick in the first 35min (and he was also the man of the match against croatia) and Silva scored a 4th goal.

And we need to win with 5-0......

This aint a wum dig...but after your luck today (liverpool would try and kick themselves but theyd only miss) coupled with your great recent league form, rvp's goals and your home form I am considering putting a fiver on you getting through...but dont grass on me!

It's football, anything can happen. But looking at the experience in the Milan team, it is a bit of a long shot.

  9. On this occassion I am positive. I think we will win easily. If we have a 2-0 lead at half time we will go through.

although not very likely, i can see Arsenal scoring 4 goals, the problem is that I can't see us keeping a clean sheet against Milan, our last 2 games against Spurs and Pool while good in the attacking sense, still displayed some defensive vulnerabilities , and Milan have very good attacking players in the form of Ibra, Robino, Boateng, Pato etc, so I can see them scoring especially as we will be chasing the game which will leave openings for them.

  11. As strange as it sounds we dont need to chase the game in the first half - we need to try and get to half time at 2-0, or 3-1.. basically a two goal lead and this is quite possible playing patient and waiting for our chances. Take one half at a time. If we do then lets really go for it in the second half, when Milan, if losing, will be ****ting themselves and the Emirates will be alive (a la Barca last year)

Sorry Jayram. This isnt spuds or loserpool we are playing. I give us no chance. Less than the 5% wenger said in his interview. The reason is milan are an elite european side. Zlatan is an absolute god. He has peaked now. Cant see them not scoring with the talent they have, and their defence is pretty solid too.

If we had a better side than them maybe 5-0 would be a long shot. But to beat a side which is FAR better than us 5-0? Thats like us losing to everton 5-0. Never happen.

Give RVP a rest - bring on extra strikers - frighten Milan to death.

Not impossible but highly unlikely. I believe we'll put up a good fight though.

Seems like we WILL use extra strikers. I'm a bit anxious about playing RVP again - dread an injury.

I don't see you guys facing an impossible task.

You give RVP 8 chances he'll probably score 5. The problem is will your defenders be upto the job? I doubt it, but footballs a funny game so you never know.

    Best of luck <ok>

Forget winning by 5 goals that won't happen, and it'll become even more unlikely when Milan go 1-0 up early as we adopt an under 9s approach and leave ourselves completely exposed at the back.
I can however see this being a ridiculous game, maybe a 4-3 eitehr way, I wou;dn't be surprised to see plenty of goals in the game.....

Yeh thats the spirit state the obvious, everyone knows that we have a very slim chance of getting through to the next round. But you have to put all that negativity behind you and back arsenal to at least win the match. If we get an early goal who knows, its a huge mountain to climb but it does tend to be italian teams that cave under pressure. We also have 6 days until our next match so there is time for rest so why not play our strongest team. Milan are the sort of team that when they are on form they are unplayable but when they are slightly off and under pressure they can buckle. I'm not saying that we will go through but as a fan its your duty to support your team and as i said if we do get an early goal then that will lift the atmosphere.

An early goal will be vital tonight if we are even to think about mounting a comeback. I think Milan will come to the Emirates and try to play on the counter, something we are weakest at. I hope we do not get hammered again and leave an aggregate score of 8-1 or something like that.
