Drogba was banging in goals in the Champions League for Marseille when Chelsea bought him .... Carroll wasn't. I think Mourinho bought Drogba on the strength of the game against Real Madrid - he played as the lone striker and battered their defence singlehandedly all game.
But he was 26 years old at the time. When he was 24 he had only scored 32 league goals. It didn't stop Drogba from becoming a top player later on in his career so I don't see why it should mean Carroll won't. So he was 25 Thanks for the correction, wasn't sure either but just went with 24.
I think, all things considered, I'd rather have Newcastle and Spuds get top 4 over arsenal. As this thread has shown today, there is no bigger group of ignorant plastic fans as the football illiterate gooners, who think they are something special. They have mastered the art of total arrogance without a footballing clue, and are totally lacking in class. I even want the mancs to beat them, they are so obnoxious. In fact, I'd prefer the chavs to win then them.
I was about to disagree with you here, but then I had a quick look on their board... It's all about Suarez diving (which he didn't) and other slurs about Scousers. Yet, no one thread on our board is slagging their team off (apart from a few jibes in this one, which is really waht it's for.)
Classic mugging We outplayed them all over the park, Reina I thought was poor on both goals. Not only that, we wasted so much forward posession in dangerous areas that could have easily been converted into chances. If our luck was in today it couldhave been another 8 2 loss for arsenal. As it was, we didnt have any bar the penalty and OG, It still annoys me we failed to score today and arsenal scored 3
Leave em to it. They seem to think gettting 3rd or 4th is some kind of trophy. Liverpool arn't going to finish in the top4 but have won the CC and are favourites to reach the FA cup semi final. Arsenal may well finish in the top4 and qualify for the CL but they F**k all chance of winning in it anyway and after Tuesday night will be looking at another trophy less season and a summer pf praying RVP will stay.
Not sure it was a mugging, Liverpool created chances and didn't take them, we converted our best chances. No-one is going to go to a place like Anfield and play Liverpool off the park, I seem to remember the roles were reversed at the start of the season when we created far more and got beat by Liverpool so yes they may have had more possesion but that;s not unusual for a home team. As for the penalty it looked like Suarez was half way to the floor already when the minimal contact occured, so for me it was a dive but he's not alone in cheating....
We had more possession in the away game aswell, and more shots. You created less than us in that game if anything, no way was it more. Your best chances were shots from outside of the box from Nasri and Frimpong and the Van Persie chance which was your only chance in the box.
