3 of the bottom 5 teams aren't going to get 34 points , were already safe IMO ... a Sig nificant win to say the least . The troops will be in a relaxed state for Man City . I can see us doing a bit of " King Killing " next game . Cheers !

For once, some sensible subs by Rodgers. Moving Rangel up and bringing in Tate was spot on as was Moore for Graham. If we were ever going to hit them on the break, Moore would have had the pace to do it. Thought he did his job well.

    Martinez in the poop now.

Thought the red card was harsh in the extreme, but the studs were up. In the current climate the poorer refs (like Mariner) will give them even if they are at low height. Maybe worth an appeal.

A much needed win and clean sheet well done . Definately should appeal Dyers red card his foot was below knee height, and his studs facing down but what you expect from such a crap ref ! Rogers subs decissions look suicidal at times but he got lucky this time . I hope we can sign Siggy up he`s class.

Not sure what subs you'd suggest. The Tate/ Rangel combo was the only one that could work and the Manager did it. Moore was the natural choice to replace Graham who had worked his socks off and was knackered. No luck involved.

Just did a 'brief' piece of research into appealing red cards. The only succesful ones I have found are when a player is wrongly judged to have been the last man or if they actually won the ball.

If Dyer loses out on game time for that, the law is far more criminal than the tackle.

exellent today - we were cruising until Dyer got sent off (he didnt have a good day) and although it was a very nervy final 30 mins we defended well and Wigan didnt have any real clear cut chances. i was sceptical about bringing off Siggy and we did gift them all the possession and lost control of the game - in the end it was justified against Wigan who couldnt break down our defence but we wouldnt be able to get away with that against a better team.
It was a great team performance but MOTM theres only one candidate - Siggy!! weve got to pull out all the stops to sign him at the end of the season.

You`r telling me that having tate and moore as subs is not a piss poor opption to have as back up to come on when we are down to 10 men. surely there must be better players ? in other words our strength in depth is poor so lucky what he had available didnt cost us as it may have against better teams.

Well earned three points for the lads. Siggy is class, did say to my boy that Siggy would score the free kick, now he owes me a quid.:emoticon-0100-smile

Thought the red card on Dyer was very harsh, yes foot up but really no proper contact with Gomez (Well I thgink it was him). It was no more than a yellow card, well worth a punt on an appeal.

My only beef with the game was the ref, some poor decisions on tackles and the Wigan players falling over with the slightest of touches. Did think that Brendan made some good sub decisions. Would have like Siggy to stay on but you needed Joe and Leon on as being more defensive. Moore did well when he came on tried to hold the ball up and run the clock down. I know he's not everybodies cup of tea but I quite like the lad.

Good result, still 14th but 13 pts clear of Wigan and Bolton 11pts clear of Blackburn. Two more wins and it's happy days.:emoticon-0100-smile:emoticon-0100-smile

Oh one other thing, nothing to do with us. But god Wigan can't cross the ball. How many times did they put it behind for a goal kick. School boy football.

Vorm was exellent but the sheer class of the goals swayed it for me - worth breaking our transfer record to keep him

Have to agree, looks like we will stay up so more money coming into the club. So I think we should make every effort to get Siggy.

Ah, so you're questioning them actually being on the bench in the first place. That's a different argument. With what was available on the bench I think the subs were about right, bearing in mind Rodgers' track record on getting it wrong.

Vorm for MOM? What have you been smoking? He didn't have much to do! Two sweet strikes from Siggy makes him a shoe-in.

That was the reaction we needed, and although I had us down for a 2-1 win, we played the right strategy towards the end today, and I'm not that bothered regarding our old timer Tate coming on, though I thought that Rodgers would have gone with Gower, but it all worked out fine, think we should appeal the red, as it seemed a bit harsh, but a win is a win, one more win and we are safe in my view, we are 3 points away from Stoke, who are sitting in 8th place, let's kick on from this and at least get a draw next week!...................

Great time to be a Swans fan. Safe in the Premier league with 11 games still to play.
