Song is not a DM. A real DM wouldn't attack anywhere near as much as he does.

 

Right He isn't a DM he is a CM. I would like to see us play with a DM at times, but Song is very good going forward (as demonstrated by his defence splitting passes) so it would be a waste to play him as a DM

 

Liverpool over-ran us in the middle today. It's Song's job to stop that from happening but he was non-existant.

I lick my lips at seeing song and a dm together in cm. A ball winner and a defence sheidler. And then Jack in the cesc role. That would be amazing. We might see a solid looking back line then.

a defence shielder is always worth their weight in gold, especially if they can add a few goals and pass over 20yds to quality forwards,

but a quality shileder will never imo cover up the for lack of quality in a defence behind them, to be true contenders you need both ..... parker was doing an excellant shield job for spurs, the fact the defenders acted like ours meant we run riot over them.

until we address the whole team issue the odd world class player like rvp upfront will still deliver the same old same old
