i was just wondering if any one knows anything about anyone taking over our club yet as all the news from a couple of weeks ago has all gone quite if nothing happens what do you think BC will do in the summer!?!?
http://undercoversport.blogspot.com...tml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Unknown source - but if this comes to fruition, then it looks VERY positive! These guys are worth A LOT of money!
Hmm, Better read this and more interesting the links, Saab etc first Mike. http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=424&fid=203&sty=2&act=1&mid=2118077054
The same with most things Pompey - I will believe it when I see it! Hopefully it comes to fruition, and that these claims that they are part of the mafia are false (I think i read somewhere that all charges were dropped in Sweden?)
Call me Mr Sceptic, but if Russian businessmen are involved, I can't help but worry that Gaydamek may be somewhere in the shadows. I have no confidence in the 'fit and proper' test so I can only hope and pray that my concerns prove to be unfounded.
Agreed Fratton - I have the same concerns, but like me, take a step back and realise that there is more that one Russian business man and the optimist in me is saying that these guys are not associated with the Gaydemek clan.
http://undercoversport.blogspot.com...tml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Monday, 14 March 2011 Antonov & Dubov ready to takeover at Portsmouth Russian duo Vladimir Antonov and Roman Dubov are on the verge of taking over Portsmouth FC. They've completed due diligence and tabled an offer that has been accepted by current owner Balram Chainrai. Chris Akers, the former chief executive of Leeds, is also involved with the duo as part of the vehicle Conver Sports Initiatives. The trio are promising to rejuvenate the south coast club and finances should not be a problem, because Antonov and Dubov are each worth upwards of ã300m. They have enlisted the help of Phil Hall, the former editor of the News of the World, to deal with all their PR. And they are likely to need him, because passing the Football League's Fit and Proper Persons test will now come into focus. Antonov is the biggest shareholder in the Lithuanian bank Bankas Snoras and in 2008 they were refused a UK licence by the Financial Services Authority after regulators stated that the company had given them "misleading and incomplete answers". The FSA also added that Antonov's "failures are not an isolated instance but are examples of an ongoing pattern of behaviour by institutions controlled by Mr Antonov." Watch this space...
That looks hopeful Jake. Good to see you on here, and Mikecloud, PompeyDan and Sorefeet too! We need as many people as we can get on here! Spread the word to all Pompey fans!
Hopefully we can get most of the 606 lot on here It looks very hopeful, although I won't get my hopes up just yet - remember this is Pompey, and there are ALWAYS twists and turns
