It is very unlikely that Lucas is going to play this season again. He got injured during Carling cup game with Chelsea,
it is good that we won that cup, at least he got his hand on a medal.
Lucas usually cover a lot of ground during matches and also a good protection for the back four.
We also miss his non nonsense tackle, we are anxiously waiting for your next game whenever you are fit to play.<applause><applause>

Absolutely. I didn't think we would miss him as much as we have but the central midfield is so ill-disciplined.

Since Lucas has been out, the opposition have had more space in the middle and have gotten in behind our midfield and attack our defence on more occasions. I don't think we're going to see the best of Adam and Gerrard until Lucas is back and he gives them more protection.

Side note - apparantly we haven't won the last 6 games in which Stevie G has started? Can anyone confirm this?

Lucas allows Gerrard & Adam to do their 'thing'

Only problem is, I'm not too sure Adam knows what his 'thing' is since joining a club where a 20% chance of completing one of his Holywood passes is deemed unacceptable! :)

I'm sure he'll find his niche!

To be fair to Adam, he and Lucas had a decent partnership which saw Adam hit a bit of form during that time. He will come good but I don't think he and Gerrard should be playing together.

On his performances I would say squad player is about right tbh. Shame as he has the capability but not the consistency required I reckon.

Basically what I'm saying is 'come on Adam don't be a Charlie! Pull yer finger out lad!"

I can only assume because he is playing with many good players at Liverpool he is unable to shine.! He was good at Blackpool.<ok>

Wenger cannot play Tottenham game with us.!

he was but.... this doesn't excuse the fact that the guy who was said to be worth 10mil for his set piece alone has been terrible form corners and pens this year... terrible.

honeslty i think he's a ball wathcer, his positional play is terrible, he tries a lot of things fair enough but he's not making enough effort to get o nthe ball from the cB and get turned.. half the time he's eithe rpassing it back or just not available.

For me adam is not what we need and will end up on the bench hopefully as better players are signed...

lucas is quietly effective and not only a destructive player ala parker who just fouls the whole time and back passes.. lucs keeps it short but is positive in his passing as well... we need him back AND a proper cover here.

MITO. As you know it took a long time for Lucas to become appreciated by many of us fans. It is testimony to both his skill and persistence that so many now bemoan his injury. I truly hope that he can re-capture his form next season. There is nobody with his skill set in the Prem let alone on our bench.

I've said it before but I think Adam is suffering from 2nd season syndrome. Just nothing is going right for him. If he doesn't snap out of it next season then he will only be warming our bench for 1 season!

This summer is going to be very interesting. If any of what DC said is true then we have already identified targets that are not resistant to joining us. Provided that those targets add quality to our squad then I will be very happy.

I don't think Adam has been that bad. Yes, he's not stamped his authority in the games but he was coming into form just before Lucas got injured. He does need to work on his discipline and positional sense but give him time.

We do miss him but on the other hand Spearing has proven to be solid enough for us to be wanting him to play in high profile matches.

I know you are going to hate me. But I do not rate Spearing; And he made a howler the other day against United.. He is a play who will become good; He is very much like Lucas was and needs time to mature into the side. He is not quite there yet though.

So for now I must *facepalm*

He's fine as back up for current expectations, hopefully can keep improving in a position where time is on your side.

Position you grow in: ask Lucas.

We do miss him. It's the gap between defence and midfield that he bosses which is where we keep getting caught out.

Adam cannot tackle and Gerrard hasn't now god the legs. Glad Spearing is in today.

Spearing is capable of filling in, I don't think Lucas playing would have made any difference to us not being able to put the ball in the net and finish teams off
