On football focus today that we are the only club in English football history to win every top flight home game in a season. 1892 title winning year (1 of 6 we have won in our history) That's quite a staggering record to be the only club to achieve it, especially when you consider the likes of the Liverpool, arsenal and man utd teams over the last 50 years alone. Man City still on course to equal it this season but we have a chance on 31st of this month to stop them of course.
I remember going pretty close again in the mid 1970's in the old 2nd division..That was the season where our only defeat was to Palace in the cup, and I think we drew a couple of our league games.
Yes our record was played 21 won 19 drawn 2 lost 0. The strange thing is that the two teams who left Roker Park with a point were Bristol City and Bristol Rovers. A few years later we also went through a second division season with out a home defeat. That season I think it was 16 wins and 5 draws.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Newcastle managed to get all the way to the last home game of the season winning every match, before ****ing up and drawing with you scum
I would have to have an interest in the second best team in the NE to correct you, as I have no interest in your **** team at all. I shall just have to believe you!
Dumb ****, its STILL the record according to the BBC not me. If Roger Bannisters 4 minute mile record was still the record today, would that make it an insignificant record to you. We've won more titles, have the record biggest crowd, the record derby victory and now in 120 years a unique record. Oh, and we are still the LAST NE club to actually win anything of note...... I could add, as you like really up to date facts, that we are STILL the only NE club able to win something this season either. You dumb b&w ****.
