Oli started badly, which was no surprise since he was rusty, but as the game went on he got much better and some of his passing was awesome.
I'll keep my reflections short; 1. Mannone was MOTM for me, sign him up 2. Blackpool were knackered in last 10 mins, we were fitter, sharper and could have won it 3. Evans v's Oli, both bring different qualities to the team, Barmby needs to make the correct selection based on the opposing teams midfield. Ferguson v Oli was not the correct match up 4. Koren had his boots on the wrong feet
FFS what was he moaning about? This is one of my biggest pet hates in football: managers moaning about a ref when they're wrong! When they have got a point I'm happy to listen to it but last night the ref definitely had some kind of subconscious bias against us, maybe because of the possession in their favour but every little decision was going their way.
The first thirty minutes were the worst we've played for a while, we missed Evans(Oli is as big a wuss as Folan), but that was a great goal by Ince. I've seen a few posts on here suggesting that Mannone should have done better, I disagree, I don't think he had a prayer of stopping that shot. We started to match them towards the end of the first half and we were definitely better in the second half, particularly after the substitutions, when Evans tightened up the midfield and King and Cullen had possibly their best games for us. The goal was coming and we could easily have nicked it at the end, all in all, it was a decent point.
Did I see you type Cullen there Mr B? OK he still has it to prove, but I still say he could be a massive asset in the near future.
You did indeed Mussie. I have not been impressed with him outside of reserve games in the past, but there's no doubting that he put in a good performance last night and definitely deserves to keep his place on the bench against TWS.
