Hey everyone, I´m new on here I´ve been roaming around this site for a while and read many posts so decided it was time to join in. ...Anyway, as the season is reaching it´s climax I would like to know how you lot think it´s going end in the premier league, championship and league 1. Name your top 6 and bottom 3 in each league (bottom 4 in league 1). This is my prediction: premier league: ------- Championship: -------- League 1: 1. Man Utd ------- 1. Southampton -------- 1. Charlton 2. Man City ------- 2. Reading --------- 2. Sheffield Utd 3. Tottenham ------- 3. West Ham --------- 3. Huddersfield 4. Arsenal ------- 4. Birmingham --------- 4. Mk Dons 5. Liverpool -------- 5. Cardiff --------- 5. Sheffield Wednesday 6. Chelsea --------- 6. Brighton ---------- 6. Stevenage ------------ -------------- ----------------- 18. QPR --------- 22.Coventry -------- 21. Yeovil 19. Bolton ---------- 23. Doncaster --------- 22. Rochdale 20. Wigan ---------- 24. Pompey ---------- 23. Walsall ------------------------------------------24. Chesterfield
Welcome to not606 Alan! If you have any problems or queries then simply send a message to myself, Beddytare or st_brendy who are the Mods for this board. Good first post. CF
Other than your incorrect numbering of the Championship bottom three, I actually agree with all of that.
Chelsea 6th seems a bit unfair, but it's gonna be tight between 4th-6th that's for sure. West Ham 3rd is an interesting one, definitely possible if we keep up our form as do Reading.
I seriously don´t rate Chelsea. I thought Villas Boas was going to do wonders there but now it seems that he probably won´t even finish the season as Chelsea manager. They are definitely not the team they used to be. You´re right that between 4th-6th it´s going to be very close. Even though I reckon it will be Arsenal who finishes fourth I just hope that the team that gets the champions league spot actually does well in the competition and doesn´t let down and embarrass the premier league like this season.
Welcome to Not606, Alan. Have this link to the now defunct BBC Predictor. It carries on to the end of the current season, but since the BBC upgraded their Sports website, they've abandoned the Predictor. Luckily, only the links, so have a go while it still works: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/predictor/default.stm
I agree with most of that! Would have done it very similar, I think west ham will be 3rd as well and will not go up, mainly because any away game I have ever been too, that team then has never gone up that season lol! Also been Cardiff this season and plan to go to hull
So it's you who is the secret weapon. Get on the payroll quick! This is an interesting post - either uber-confident or daft! Man Utd to win the Prem is always a shout, tbf, they just seem to win when they shouldn't. City could blow up. You really must think Chelsea are bad if you think that Liverpool are above them. I've only been to see the Reds once this season - Brighton in the Cup - and thought they were awful (yes even at 6-1) and whenever I see them on the telly they are terrible. My Red friends tell me that they play better off camera, but I'm not convinced. West Ham is a controversial call, but I've fancied they might not get there for a while. A 5-1 defeat at Ipswich didn't bode well, although they now seem to have their strategy sorted - play with 10 men! Look for an early sending off against Cardiff. I have a sneaking feeling Coventry may avoid the drop just on their history and this a bit of heart anyway as their fans are really good. I hope Bristol City fill the 3rd spot for going down as due punishment for beating us twice! League One .. nah, I'm bored! Hope Huddersfield come up, end of.
Man City for PL title, ManU second. In the Championship, I also think West Ham will finish third. They are the team at risk of missing out from the chasing pack, rather than us. We had a blip but were still playing well, but I think West Ham will drop points, starting tomorrow.
It's not that I don't rate Chelsea, on their day they are very special. I do however agree with that I thought Villas Boas would set the league alight and has dramatically failed to do so. I wouldn't be surprised if they still got 4th, but wouldn't be shocked if they didn't get it either. I wouldn't mind seeing Liverpool grab it.
Not sure why everyone thinks West Ham are more likely to slip up then us or Reading? Assuming they win their game in hand, then they are above us. They have a strong squad with lots of options, and have recently beaten one of the other promotion challengers 4-1 even though they had 10 men for 50 mins, they do have the odd off game (i.e. Ipswich) but they always seem to bounce back. Further to this, they have won many games this season whilst not playing well, which is always a sign of a good team. I'm still fully expecting West Ham to take top spot...looks like I'm on my own on this one though. Prem: Man C 1st, Man U 2nd, Spurs 3rd Champ: West Ham 1st, Saints 2nd, Reading 3rd League 1: Charlton 1st, Shef U 2nd, Udders 3rd League 2: Plymouth to escape relegation for a 3rd successive season Oh and Welcome AlanSFC!
And relegated from the Championship the season before that! They have only recently gotten out of the relegation places (and only be a couple of points) in League 2 this season. They really have been in freefall both on the pitch and off it. They have done a reverse Norwich and I'm hoping they don't go one better/worse this season
Whoops! I just read it how you read it the first time I could have definetly worded that a bit better!
