In the squad tomorrow. What are the hopes for this lad? He bangs em in for the reserves just like Carroll and Ranger did and have made strides in the first team, Ranger has potential but just needs to stop pissing about on and off the field. Hopefully Phil Airey will offer us a different option upfront.

    Good luck to him.

I've heard nothing but good things about him and hope he gets a chance to show what he can do.

Ranger needs to score and then perhaps he'll be more relaxed in front of goal as he's pulling shots at present which I reckon comes down to handling pressure.

Don't mean to sound defeatist, but he's not all that good.

Seen him a few times and been unconvinced, but let's hope he can prove me wrong and be the next (loyal) Andy Carroll.

I'm sure he as something like 8 goals in 9 appearances? I can't remember the exact figure, but it was a ratio like that.

If that's correct, then he seems pretty bloody good to me.

He's got a good touch and vision, decent strike and he's still young.

If he continues to develop then it bodes well for the future.

i used to be a big believer that ranger will come good for us. and some will say i have written him off too early. but in my opinion he needs to be sent out on loan to either be exposed for the useless mug that he probably will be. or to prove me wrong and show that he has talent to knock in 10+ goals a season.

so far he's done nothing of note that is positive. i feel deflated whenever he is on the pitch. i have seen him a good few times playing this season. and in some cases i can pick out where he has fluffed his lines for us and showing, what i believe to be his true colours. which is nothing good

True, but just because he's scored doesn't mean he's played well, although it doesn't matter if he's scoring I suppose.
Just think he's lacking something that he'll gain with experience though.

I don't know what 'playing well' means. If a striker played well but scored few goals then I'd consider him ****.

If Airey bangs in a good few goals, he can play however he likes. That's what I consider the role of the striker, and if he's fulfilling that well, then that'll do me.

That's what a strikers there for, to put the ball in the net, not to run rings around the defence and then mess the final part up.

All I know about him is he has a good record for the reserves and a ridiculously small head.

Hopefully we'll get a glimpse of him tomorrow. <ok>

Didn't he come off the bench at Stevenage, wasn't overally impressed with him when the Under 18's played Villa last year.
