mcghee is looking beyond the rest of this season and pondering the futures of the squad he has inherited. he has 14 players out of contract in the summer but has ruled out another summer of wholesale changes.

    quote from mcghee:
the 14 players out of contract in the summer are........

    scott mcgleish
    byron anthony
    michael boateng
    wayne brown
    ollie clarke
    charlie clough
    lance cronin
    darren jefferies
    kayne mclaggon
    lamar powell
    charlie reece
    eliot richards
    gary sawyer
    danny woodards

who do you want to keep?

i would keep Wayne Brown if fit as i thought he was a decent division 1 player. I would keep Danny Woodards who has had agreat season so far. Elliot Richards is a definate to keep as he can only get better. He's very cool infront of goal which is rare at this level. I would also keep Kayne Mclaggon, who impressed me at Bath pre-season but hasn't had a look in. Gary Sawyer keep as a bench player who can play in the middle and left back. The rest i dont know enough about but if they are not breaking into the first team now then it could be that they are just not good enough.

I am happy to let Mcghee make the decisions on these players as he obviously knows more than me!!!!!!!!

But surely if Lamar Powell is the next best thing as we've been told then wouldn't he of played by now, I say start him in some games so we can at least see what he's got. :emoticon-0148-yes: and if he sucks hairy balls then theres always Bath City. :emoticon-0100-smile

scott mcgleish-has looked a good player, but not one for the future
byron anthony-great servant, but sadly time to go
michael boateng-haven't seen enough, but probably off to Conference
wayne brown-one year contract to prove himself
ollie clarke-believed to be fine prospect;one year contract
charlie clough-don't know, could be useful back-up
    lance cronin-bye bye
darren jefferies-one year contract and start picking him
kayne mclaggon-one year contract; could figure next season
lamar powell-seems to have gone backwards, try to cash in
charlie reece-not quite good enough, cheerio
eliot richards-one year contract, use as striker
    gary sawyer-still not convinced,but worth a contract(unless he's expensive)
danny woodards-tie him in to a 2/3 year contract!

For now I would definitely keep Richards and Woodards. Sawyer would be a good bench warmer for us but as Captain said, he's wages would be to too high to not play so unless he agrees to take a pay cut which I doubt then he'll probably be off. Wayne Brown I like because he has a lot of potential but hasn't had a real chance this season with his injury so the least I would offer him is a 1 year contract to prove himself. The rest I can't judge as I haven't seen or heard enough from but hopefully MM would bring a couple of youngsters in towards the end of the season to at least prove their worth a contract.

scott mcgleish - Looks like he is off anyway. I would like to have kept him until the end of season, as we dont really have an out and out striker at the club, and he adds much needed experience on the bench/to the side.

byron anthony - Great guy, gives 100% to the cause, but unfortunately always seems to lose concentration when it matters and most of the time it results in a defeat for us. It was great while it lastest, but something new/fresh is needed now. So with a heavy heart, get rid.

michael boateng - Who? play him or get rid

wayne brown - Keep. He does have something to offer, though we have hardly seen it from him so far. See if he can regain and keep fitness over the next season, so a one year contract will suffice for now.

ollie clarke - Who? play him or get rid
charlie clough - He looks like he wont be here anyway so get rid. Did look like a decent back up player though.
lance cronin - Get rid. He is not good enough for the below level let alone this one.
darren jefferies - Keep - Heard many a good story. but again, if they have no intention of playing him then get rid!
kayne mclaggon - Again, looks decent but if he isn't played, he needs to go.
lamar powell - Supposed to be the next best thing, but seen hardly anything of him. But same old thing, play him, or get rid
charlie reece - As good as gone now
eliot richards - Sign him up. Has been pretty decent this season and has contributed well.
gary sawyer - Keep, for now.
danny woodards - Definately keep. Has been one of our better players so far this season.
