If you have a community that has in the main, been together for ages on 606! a well behaved community that on the whole is a very friendly bunch! I fail to see the point of a mod here as long as a article writer can delete posts! srely its their choice! Cant say I`m impressed with the concept! Plus If we had to have one it should be the guy who has been here the longest IE it should be AK as he is our main thread writer and computer expert! (makes sense to me )!
Norway - I asked the same question when asked to be a mod - and pointed out my lack of computer skills - but the mod job does not seem to need those. I was also assured it is not like being a BBC mod - as it is not "thought police". I think it is mostly just "hooligan control" if we got a number of people come here to try to mess our board up - which has apparently happened in some places. Eventually all boards will have a mod and surely it is better if it is one of us. I do not anticipate having any modding to do with the posters we have had here so far - as we have seen there is friendly good humour throughout and where there is a difference of opinion it is carried out in an adult way. If however you got one or two of the people who used to try to wreck our 606 threads and if there were a lot of requests to stop it then only a mod would be able to do that. Hopefully I will not need to mod things but cnnot see that there being a mod is harmful - except to the extent tha it may make me unpopular if I do have to mod someone - but that goes with the territory. If however it is me personally that anyone objected to then I am ready to stand down as frankly it is not a paid job
i think you'll make a great Mod Leonardo...congrats on your new position...not sure about how the Rockers will feel about it though
Well I have been on here since January and to be honest have not seen a single post that I would have wanted removed. My belief is that no matter what we might be, or think, or say we have sufficient respect for each other for there to be no problem. There are however muppets around as seen recently who think it big to boast about raiding shops and throwing seats at people. As I said at the time I made my first ever complaint to the Beeb that was upheld. For situations like that it is necessary to have someone to judge if I am being just too sensitive. In Lenny we have one of our own, someone who will know when we are tongue in cheek, or understands that we cannot write proper English from time to time. I would much rather that than someone appointed from above somewhere. I have wondered from time to time if the rules set out by 606 were actually that bad, eventually coming to the conclusion that it was down to the interpretation. I would just be sorry if this board ever became similar to some I have seen, but feel sure that we will all do our best to ensure that Lenny has time to do his jobs around the rolling acres.
Thanks OFH - and I would not have accepted the job if I did not realise there would be nothing to do ... and for someone of my age I am ashamed to say I have only just got the Mods and Rockers bit - but I always liked the Who - especially Quadrophenia - but I also am a great fan of Deep Purple, Nazareth, Zeppelin and others - as Harry Hill says but which is the best......... Yep well done Lenny as soon as the demise of the beeb was announced Ak set up the "dark"nest and golden yellow and I were his first guests!!! Then we started advertising the fact to the rest of the community ,it is good we are still all here and our community will be intact! thus I foresee that Lenny will have an exceptionally easy ride here! everyone

Nah ducey, I work funny shift patterns , AK would have been my first choice as he doesnt want it ,then Lenny is a good enough! I just like our usual more democratic methods rather than the way things have been done here! Chances are the same result would have been achieved !!!,but we have been robbed of some fun and giggles!!! Maybe we might have had an election!!
How about 1 vote for each member or one vote for each level attained! EVEN BETTER we could have a decision taken on high with no refererence to the rank and file How would you do it Frenchie?
