Just catching up again. Didn't Julia Bradbury get her kit off for a calendar? Tartan, there's a thing. My grandfather, who I never met, had many hobbies and one was geneology. He discovered that our sarf London by way of Essex farmer origin family was entitled to wear a tartan(!). Where that came from is anybodies guess as the clan don't even know. Anyhow my tartans are please log in to view this image please log in to view this image The green is hunting and red dress, there is another but you have to be the chief or his family to wear it and aparently white based dress tartan as well. You won't catch me in a kilt or this tartan though.
Now this is getting very funny - put a real Friday smile on my face. Where else can you get a rambling story about Icelandic volcanoes, Julia Bradbury, men in skirts, meat and 2 veg in the hand and Brighton - quality everyone!
Quality story Al! It must be me, the only place i've ever seen Julia Bradbury is here in the Nest. I obviously watch the wrong programmes! lol Morning all. after a hugely hectic week i have a day on the sofa today and i refuse to budge until dinner time lol. I'm completely shattered, just not used to these long hours anymore...! Ah well, by January things should start easing up a bit...roll on the new year!
Oh, and when i was 9 we had a camping holiday in Scotland...on a visit to Skye my dad bought me a kilt, in the McDuff tartan (the red one). He also bought a length of the tartan and brought it home with him, giving some to my grandpa who was a tailor, and made me a waistcoat and some to my great uncle who was a milliner, who made me a beret with a fluffy ball on the top. I loved that outfit so much...gutted when i finally outgrew it. Somewhere i have some old photos of me wearing the hat and beret...oh, and the tie which we also bought in Scotland.
Oh, Coventry and Birmingham City have been placed on a temporary transfer embargo...can't see how it'll make much difference, to Birmingham at least!
My dad has been going back through the family tree, and seems to think we can wear the Royal Stewart. I know my grandad was from Glasgow so certainly have Scottish blood in me I do actually own a kilt... Me and some mates did a wrestling fancy dress night, so I decided to go as Rowdy Roddy Piper!
Thanks for taking it in the good humour it was sent. I too have worn a Kilt on two different occassions, both in the summer. I couldn't believe at first how heavy they were and like yourself you need to be able to breath or you'd end up with roasted hot chesnuts. Enjoy your day, I won't keep you I guess you've got to press on.
actually we had two, coz my dad learned the trade for a while, though he hated it..and got out as soon as he could lol...
Has anyone seen Gordon lately? How's he doing, anyone know? I remember his last post sounded far more positive...anything since then?
I know he posted his predictions last week, and yes he did sound more positive last time. was talking about going to see a live match.
Haha there are on facebook. It was when we had a week in Kos and we did a pub crawl. Had to show the kids how to go out properly....
