Please don't make assumptions on what I may or may not propose, I don't mind having a conversation with you but we will never concur; our backgrounds and experience are obviously different and have moulded our social conscience (or not).

I have little sympathy for this guy, I have sympathy for him getting shot in the first place but not for him killing himself. I don't understand that 'brave' crap either.

Your funny but I try not to argue with idiots, I find they lower me to their level and then beat me with experience.

It saddens me to see some of these comments.
These people supporting Raul Moat and saying 'the pig deserved it' etc. YOU ARE SCUM!

This started off as a thread about a man who lived in the North-East, was shot doing a job that most would think worthwhile and this week decided, for whatever reason, that life was no longer worth living.

Thank god the vast majority of comments are from people simply showing respect, not judging, trying to make some great political statement, show how well informed and clever they are or just taking it as an opportunity to have a dig. To all of those, thank you.

To the rest, sometimes keeping quiet is the correct thing to do, you decide what side your comments put you.

reading not your strong point then, go and try again but it's OK, don't expect an apology.

David Rathband, policemen from north east.

David Jones, singer from Manchester then USA.

Easy mistake to make I suppose, BTW don't think I was mocking.

I cant imagine that the media and everyone in this country talking about him, his family and his separation from his wife helped the bloke come to terms with what had happened.

    Still, RIP.

Got **** all to do with that Syd. I pay my respects when they are due but this is not the place for it. There are websites set up specifically for this kind of thing. I dare say there is one for the copper if people want to go and pay their respects. We all know jack **** about him aswell. But the pissing and moaning about being offended by people putting comments is just tedious.

Its the internet, it happens. People should either just not put the thread up or accept what comments they get. Its boring. We get Whitney Houston being held up as some kind of saint, when in reality she's just a crack whore who deserves little respect. Point that out and you're a disgrace. We're in a derby week and we can't find something to talk about that is to do with a the biggest game of the season instead of moping about some copper none of us knew? That's the sad thing.

I knew him, and had a good laugh with him before this incident happened

would you take my word that he was a genuine guy and all he wanted to do was his job and go home to see his family

this was taken away from him through no fault of his, he lost everything he had

and in the end lost all hope for the future

now I don't want to get in a slanging match with anyone, it's just that I knew him and you don't
