Aguero is a better player in my opinion. I just think Rooney is over-hyped. Irritates me a bit to see the media salivating over his "overhead kick" which actually came off his shin. It would have been written off if it hadn't been him.
Most of the big teams (Barca, Real, City) just use poachers up front and then pack the midfield with talent to create the chances. Aguero is possibly the most skilled poacher, but a poacher nonetheless. Rooney does a lot more. As does Van Persie.
Yep, and in the end I was cheering them on too. Everybody eventually likes a good underdog. please log in to view this image
On the subject of Mourinho, I'd quite like him to get the England job, because I noticed that when someone asked Ferguson who he thought should get it, he grandly said Harry Redknapp, and he gave loads of reasons. The one reason he didn't give was that he sees Tottenham, with Redknapp as their manager, as a thorn in his side, that could conveniently go away, if he was chosen. Normally, Ferguson would shoo the question away, after all, what does he care..? So if Fergie bothers to think so, then I'd rather Redknapp didn't get it, and there might be a fighting chance of ending the endless bloody Manchester-is-the-centre-of-football rubbish, that keeps being put about, because there would be a decent challenge around. Before we topple them, of course. please log in to view this image
I think Mourinho is a quality manager who is almost guaranteed to win you titles but he would be crazy to take the England job. I got a bad feeling Stuart Pearce will get the job for the summer then Redknapp will take over next season, which wouldn't be that bad I hope.
There is more chance that he's getting ready to replace Harry at Spurs and Harry's about to take over England. I hope England get Mourinho though, we need a tactical manager with a brain for once
Mourinho has already he said he is too young for international football. However I would not put it past him taking the England job for the summer.
I guess that's partly down to Sven, McLaren and Capello not picking them and not sticking with the inclusions that impresss in friendlies/qualifiers. It's been back to the old guard for tournaments. Mourinho would give us a good chance of winning as he knows how to win against the odds, even if his style is no oil painting. As others have said though, he's probably here to replace Harry or AVB.
The special one, dang, we need the fooking magic one to make this work! But, I'd rather fail with youngsters than quarter final with the old names, so what do I know.
Me too,I shouldn't of though...I should of been supporting Portugal, but I find it so hard to support them especially after they knocked us out of the competition. The thing is,they get soooo carried away, because they're a small country a little bit of sucess goes to their heads and they think they can beat anyone...I can't stand it.
Come on. Benzema? You must be joking. Ronaldo and Messi aren't strikers. Cavani, Falcao and Hulk look good but are largely unproven against top defenders, though I'd say Cavani at least comes close as he does look very good. RVP - yeah maybe. Higuain - decent, but not quite. Aguero - as I said above, he's very good as a poacher, but that's a one-dimensional role.
Benzema is on fire this season in case you didn't know. Ronaldo and Messi can play as strikers...Falcao plays in La Liga, how can he be largely unproven against top defenders.Cavani is a superb player that could easily get into any team in the world, the same goes for Hulk,he possess pace, power, he is a great crosser of the ball, passer of the ball,he can head the ball and shoot from long range and take penalties aswell. Aguero is a great passer of the ball and brings others into the game, namely Dzeko, just look at his link up play with him and Silva.I don't know which Aguero you're talking about because it is certainly not Kunny Aguero from Man City. All of these players are as good or if not better than Rooney,in my opinion.
Betis Espanyol Getafe Granada Levante Mallorca Osasuna Racing Rayo Real Sociedad Sporting Zaragoza All teams with crap defenders compared to the Premier League. With the players that Real and Barca have in midfield, they could play Heskey up front and he'd get around 20 goals in a season with all the assists they provide. Presumably Rooney will score more than 20 goals this season. In La Liga I'd be willing to bet he'd get more than 30.
