Knackered I'm Welsh , Welsh and only Welsh so its Y Ddraig Goch for me . As for the butchers apron well thats another story for another time
I think you are really stretching it. You mean that you can't see this is some of the fans way of saying thank you to the owners of the club for taking us from the brink of administration to the reasonably secure situation we are in today. What our Malaysian owners have done for us deserves a million thanks. The flag is our way of saying that. I do not see the issue in this at all!!
I'd have thought a white flag would be more suitable at Legoland due to their annual surrender of promotion round about this time of year.
Siam- only bluebirds have Made flags an issue, nobody Else. Maybe your should explain this to your fellow supporters who thought that no other flag from a welsh one should be flown at games. Like a said earlier, you couldnt make it up! Its suddenly no problem to fly flags everone, the bluebirds say its ok now ... Its always been ok with us forward thinking jacks
i dont condone waving malaysian flags, but i have no problem with it, as i said the owners are promoting cardiff games in malaysia, and it would please the viewers if they see malaysian flags around the back of the stadium siam is right though
What NJ said. You lot of the blue kind are missing the point here. It isn't an issue for us either but some of you have always created a stink over union jacks at the Liberty. Hypocrisy for sure.
Is it not only hypocritical if the people who say "don't do it" then do it? The three guys waving the Malaysian flag probably do not care about union jacks, and the people who care probably don't wave the Malaysian flag. Hypocritical does not seem the right word here unless those who have criticized the use of flags start waving them
Agree with NJ and KJ on this. Alot of Cardiff fans had a "pop" at us Jacks for waving a Union Jack flag around the Liberty, only to then find the Bluebirds do the same, but with a Malaysian flag. But, what Siam has said is correct. It's not hyprocritical, that is unless the people flying the Malaysian flags are the fans who criticised us, and I'm pretty sure we will never find out if it was. So, think Hypocrit is the wrong word here.
So maybe the hypocrisy is more accurately directed to those who had a pop at our union jacks but didn't criticise their own fans' use of a foreign flag. Just a thought. Siam: Could have sworn I saw you at the Wales game last night. Clearly not!
the union flag is the crown of england(however they dress it up).......now these people have treated our people with distain over hundreds of years.....they burned our books and tried 2 take our language......and YOU ****** display theyre flag .....now thats hypocritical aye......see big difference in my opinion on flags...the malaysians have saved my club and they deserve some support and thanks from us.......what fking thanks does the queen of england need from us welsh u explain that **** lads.
Well well, a cardiff supporter who can twist history to suit himself. Your first line states 'over hundreds of years etc etc'. Yet you go on to state 'Malaysians have saved my club' - present day I believe. They have been with you how long? Clear of debts are you? Still in the Championship? Wise up man, they have done nothing for you yet!!! Suggest you go have a read of their history, providing you can read without twisting the words. They had it worse than us (us Welsh that is), but they also gave it back (in spades)!!!! Finally, who were the Welsh supporters at the game last night with Malaysian flags? What were they trying to prove? I know they weren't Swansea, as we have no Malaysian contact. I strongly suggest you sort out your own before calling others names because of your inadequate thoughts. If you have a problem with the Queen, go sort it! END OF
Just my opinion, and I wouldn't want to fall out with anyone over such an issue, but it occurs to me that people will have a whole variety of reasons for waving their chosen flag. If you watch Match of the Day or the Football League Show, you'll see a Man City fan waving a welsh flag and the same at Forest - and that's just to mention two. While I respect Aber's passionate view point, I think we have to live in the world as it is now, and whatever has gone on in the past, there is no doubt that Wales is part of Britain and that many feel as British as they do Welsh. I don't think anyone loses their cultural or national identity by waving a Union Jack. Equally, waving the national flag of the country of your owners or star player is a welcoming thing to do. At the end of the day, this is football and not warfare - if the Army was flying a flag of the enemy, the argument would be more appropriate. I don't think anyone at Swansea is giving up their national pride by flying the flag of their choice at a football match. How ya doin' Vetch? Long time no speak.
Ball ache, don't think for a moment that we Welsh had nothing to do with the British empire ,take a look at the buildings dotted around Cardiff where the so called landed gentry lived in the 19th century ,built from the blood and sweat from the valley coal mines ,whether you like it or not all of this country played some part in the expansion of the empire for the good and bad that went with it.
I'm fine, thanks cling, hope you are too. Really happy to see you on here, spreading your usual common sense. This flag business was done to death years ago,and it's sad to see it back in the public eye. Whilst I am a Red Dragon man,I really have no problem with the Union Jack;Cardiff fans' displaying a Malaysian flag,or even SiamBluebird hoisting one in honour of Thailand. Football is a global product,so flags of different Nations should be acceptable anywhere,in my opinion, anyway. Look after yourself, cling.
Cling......what a sensible, truthful reply, don't think anybody could put it better if they tried. At the end of the day, football is a global sport and a club will have fans everywhere, do they get frowned upon because they are Chinese yet they fly an English flag because they support a team from England?
Thanks Vetch. Yes I'm ok at the moment. Like yourself, my flag of choice is the Red Dragon and since I expect people to respect my choice, I try to respect everone else's choice. Take care fella. Good to talk.
