Hey Yid I have a question for you. Who has the bigger average attendance, you or Seattle Sounders of the MLS?
Not really. In terms of massive derbies we don't really have any, although Spurs, West Ham and Arsenal probably come the closest. Fulham and QPR are local therefore you'd expect huge turnout, for many Chelsea fans those two grounds are actually closer to where they live than Stamford Bridge. Besides it's all relative. Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham are massive clubs that have huge followings across the UK. All four of these clubs should easily be selling out every home and away league game bar the odd few and most cup games. QPR are a newly promoted club that due to their relegation in 1995 missed out on the new generation of football fans. When I went to Shepherds Bush to watch QPR vs Chelsea (The League game) there was only Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea in sight, it's not easy for clubs like QPR who have just come up to compete with not only other bigger London clubs but also the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool who have the largest following of "gloryhunters" and a huge amount of support down South. Would I expect Chelsea to have 40,000 fans at the Bridge every week? Or Spurs to have 36,000 at WHL? Yes QPR or Fulham to have the same number? No, it just isn't possible. After the League game, the Cup game was a massive anti-climax for both sets of fans IMO
The Sounders, is that a 90s indie band from Manchester? I don't know who or what and an MLS is but I'm sure I won't like it If you were making a point about our average attendance you might want to look at Newcastle's if you think it's in anyway significant.
Spurs away support is poor: they failed to sell out Newcastle, Liverpool and ManU this season; and Man City away last season for the CL playoff. And they get 23k attendances in Europe despite 8000 Shamrock fans. Poor. IN the 90s they failed to take their full allocatiion at the Bridge regualrly too
Not poor, wrong. And we played, for the most part, fringe squad players and youngsters as indicated by the manager before the tournament so hardly relelvent. Your lot don't even have a waiting list for season tickets
We don't get 32k crowds for Prem games like you did v Stoke last season. Maybe Stoke brought -1,000 fans instead of their 3k allocation. We haven't had a Prem crowd that small since our ground was redeveloped mid 90s.
Why do you keep comparing our attendances to yours when you have a bigger stadium? You have more cheap seats so obviously it's going to be more likely for us to be 3k off capacity than you being 9k off. Don't forget you're the bigger team too Personally I can't be bothered to look up attendences of Chelsea like you have for us, I'd rather concentrate on talking about football. Still you've got to fill the 30 minute gaps between songs at Stamford Bridge so I don't blame you for having an odd interest in our attendence figures.
We haven't had a sub 40k crowd for a Prem game at the Bridge for seven seasons (that's 1,000 or so off capacity). There are always a lot of gaps to fill at Three Point Lane when you play Chelsea. Do you always have a fire drill when we play you? I'm pleased you rehearsed your annual early evacuation at the Bridge last week at the Emirates
Sorry but I don't see how this has anything to do with club support and quite frankly that image looks **** all like the Shankly Gates. No need for the personal insult.
Well if that prick was'nt talking **** on everyone elses board I wouldnt even be on here. He slags off other clubs fans when quite frankly the Chelsea fans are not exactly saints.
There is no waiting list at Chelsea. It goes on loyalty points based on how many tickets you purchase in the previous 2 seasons! So at least "proper" fans get a chance of buying them not some turd who's spent **** all but been on the "list" for 10 years! Which system is fairer?
