Hey folks, Steven Gerrard came off with a tight hamstring after half an hour for England today. Hopefully its not to major. Maybe Shelvey will be recalled from his loan again. I'd also like to say that I really hope Chris Smalling is ok. He was stretchered off and rushed to hospital after classing heads with Huntelaar. Looked nasty.

As I tweeted earlier: what did Pearce learn from playing a 31 year old for half an hour, 3 days after the same player played for 120 minutes: legs aren't indestructible? Well done. I could have seen the logic if he'd been making him Captain but for feck sake...it's a bloody friendly!
This is bad news with a huge game in less than three days. Not the first time SG has come back from international duty injured,hopefully he can play some part. I think he should just concentrate on his club football from now on.
If Gerrard hadn't have played the likes of Lawton, Samuel, Holt and the other press turdburgers would have made up hysterical stories that Gerrard pulled out because there was too many black players in the England squad.
I'd of gone with same hysteria but because he wasn't made captain but works the same. Know he loves playing for country but with his injury record he's got to err on the side of club from now on; they pay the bills, or buy the new car or whatever worry a footballer has lol...
Its true,hes a rare breed of Prem player that puts country before club. And now we're the ones to lose out if he misses the Arsenal game as expected.
I'll be right pissed off if he misses the game on Saturday because of this. I didn't want him to play tonight anyway.
for me this is a factor of gross stupidity. 1. gerrard shoould know full well he's been out for 13 months, got paid millions literally for doing nothing and then comes back half fit for us, strguggles to play 90mins and walks around the pitch. he should know he wasn't capable of going down and playing for england. 2. gerrard should know he put in 120mins and was all out and totally unable to play again midweek 3. lfc and dalglish should know that too. 4. gerrard was not playing for a new england manager he was playing for pearce. it was a pointless, meaningless game that will bear nothing towards euro 2012 as theres no manager! 5. gerrard was snubbed by pearce for captian. Add these u and he really ought to have pulled out of england duty without kicking a ball just even to protect himself. but no... as per he puts a white shirt before the red shirt and pays the price. 4 weeks MORE out, another 150k x4 basically paid by us for nothing (600k wages for nothing) then he'll be unfit and not sharp retruning for the crucial games he does play. well done gerrard... at least johnson has the brains to pull a fergie on it eh?
I doubt it will be anything serious, he really wasn't putting much effort into the game, unsurprisingly after sunday. I recon he will be fit for Arsenal at least as a sub, at least it wasn't his groin!!!
Why can't MITO use numbers if he so wishes? have you just passed a law demanding the use of bullet points?
Lets just clarify... The system requires me to go into advanced to get both bullets or numbers ergo i could not simply quick reply. numbered lists can indicate a train of thought or order of importance if you only want bullets then you will have to assume what i say first is the most important point to me. Sometimes i write a list and say in no particular order, but finally i only sue lists to communicate with the less intelligent so they can get the cogent points. the system only allows bullets in articles i write not in quick reply posts.
