FEBRUARY THE 29TH FACTS Apparently Gary Glitter was born on February the 29th. To his mind he is only 14 and doesnât see what all the fuss is about. February the 29th is David Beckhamâs favourite day because it is the only time Victoria lets Gary Neville around for Tea. Apparently every February the 29th John Terry visits Blackburn to attend the quad-annual meeting of the âI take place names too literal and came here under the wrong assumptionâ club. Allegedly. On February the 29th, everyone in Denmark is obliged to at least try Dick Van Dykeâs Cockney accent. Apparently every Febraury the 29th Nick Clegg masturbates-to-tears over a picture of himself. Every February the 29th Simon Cowell watches Brokeback Mountain just in case. Vanessa Feltz exclusively reserves her February the 29ths for having vajazzles. February the 29th is the only day that The Daily Mail uses a foreign sounding font. Do people born on the 29th February only actually exist every four years? Where do they go in the meantime?
Very funny, Kish. When I was down at my folks last, Dad and I were eating breakfast watching telly when Felch's picture came up on screen. "Oh God" he said "I wish they wouldn't show that while people are eating". I had to look up vajazzled to see what it meant - that is truly gross.
My brother saw her on Valentines Day buying Chocolates and Wine in M&S so think yourself lucky... And I will be borrowing that Ponders ta. How's your book by the way? Any news? JA's is out next week - check his thread...
If you went south on that butterball, you probably would get a whiff of gas! Regarding the book, Kish: I did post about this on a recent thread, but nobody replied. I was due for a February release, but my editor and publisher agreed to postpone until the Summer because new information/research has emerged which needs placement within the novel. I was working on this up to late January and now all is complete. Easter, though, represents a huge glut in fictional releases so we are looking at late May, perhaps early June. If you are interested in the Dark Ages, particularly the Harold Harefoot, Harthacanute and Godwins period, then it will be right up your street. It is very good if I may say so myself. A couple of weeks from release, I shall announce full details and open my website to the public.
All sounds very exciting and promising Ponders, I will definitely be reading it. I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert on the subject but as mentioned before I'm a big fan of Historical Literature. I did see a Robyn Young book the other week and thought of you. I didn't buy it though; I've got so much to read at the minute. I'm reading Orwell's Coming Up For Air, and I just bought this one which looks oddly lovely:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lives_of_the_Monster_Dogs Keep us posted please! I started writing a short story yesterday as it goes about a man who ends up living in an Ikea show home; I'm hoping it will be a surreal nihilistic account of consumerism but I'm sure it will just be incomprehensible nonsense.
