Davy Jones, British-born lead singer with 60s band The Monkees, has died aged 65, his publicist has confirmed. Use this thread to post your condolences. Hopefully there will be a tribute concert later in the year.
I'm a beleiver Would post this on the Hartlepool board but there's no **** there. Aparently they have a thing about dead monkeys.
the monkeys theme was the best one -here we coe walking down the street ------i grew up watching this aparantly the american version of the beatles
Stephen Stills, of Crosby,Stills, Nash and Young fame ( as well as a superb solo career ) auditioned and was turned down for a part as one of The Monkeys : thank **** for that, cos I like Stephen Stills stuff a lot : I also like that , while living on cocaine in the 70s he used to give interviews about his time in Vietnam during the war, despite the small fact that he was never in the army/Vietnam or , indeed , the war. Anyone wants anymore cool stories interwoven with rock facts can pm me PS; I didnt like The Monkeys very much...but I certainly would hope that no one makes a jokey thread in bad taste about Davy Jones passing away.
Wings My old fellah had Band on the Run album it was quite good. Let me Roll it was a good tune to skin up to
The Monkees were occasionally brilliant. Check the freakout on this (100 times better than the single version)
