Fair enough. You are right of course. Even by their relitively modest potential the england team massively underperformed at the world cup. But I am sure he said to Barry etc that they shouldnt give ozil space to run and that they shouldnt get bullied by klose or let muller run off them. But there is only so much fabio could do. Good post though <ok>

  2. With respect, that is complete and utter bollocks.

PESKIE and Drogs don't allow debate on their board. They ban those who have the ability to undo them in an open debate.

Isn't Parker the same age as these guys? If he wanted to look for other captains surely he would of chosen someone younger than the current captains...

The "flattered" bit was sarcasm (is there a "wow that went right over your head" smiley?).

Is defending one's club and principles frowned upon on this forum? If so I'll go to JA606

  10. A robust sense of humour is frowned upon, on this forum. Especially by humourless Gooners and Mousers, of which there appear to be many.

there is no englishman who is a stand out captain..certainly not Gerrard...and if he needs the armband to perform..then that proves my point.

Cahill should be glad he is english or nobody would give 2 squirts of piss about him,hes so typically overated..infact anything to do with the English team is....the hierachy have an agenda..and all in all the set up stinks...had it not been for the fact that Parker has been made captain...a player that plays for Spurs...i would have wanted England to get hammered..i dont think this countrie's press or even fickle fans who go on about the old guard etc deserve any glory..so long may England toil....i just wish no more Spurs players get selected..rather save them for the weekends instead of being part of that soul destroying organisation....well done to Parker..hes no worse than the over inflated ****hers who make up the 'golden generation'....so he deserves the armband

glad to see Gerrard fuk off down the tunnel to save himself for Liverpool.....injury my fukin arse...a ****her like that does not deserve one iota of glory in an England shirt..so long may the bull**** the team go through continue....however well done Parker and the fresh faces.

To précis what you're saying, Mcleish is neither good enough, or clever enough, to do anything outside of his limited tactical knowledge. something I've always liked about O'Neil is that he takes what he has at his disposal and somehow squeezes the best out of it.

I disagree completely. My brother has lived in Holland for many years, and he would tell you that the Dutch were well up for this game. They certainly played hard and tried to win. Player for player they are better than England - no doubt. However, it wasn't that bad a performance, all round with some encouraging performances from some of the youngsters.

Apart from Nigel De Jong, did you see him pull out of that 50/50 with his teammate Micah Richards later in the 2nd half! <laugh>

Was that before or after he kicked Parker into touch?

Apart from the fact that they're teammates, de Jong's a bully. He only kicks those that can't or won't kick back! I wouldn't fancy taking Richards on, either! <laugh>

Parker is perfect for England captain. If England was a player it would be Scott Parker they are both average, they are both vastly overrated and they have both won one trophy in their pitiful existence.
