Fresh enthusiasm? Well I agree and that is why I said that someone like Micah Richards should be given the role and not some over 30 year old who hasn't got international experience.

Nass, he might be 30 but how many times did he get a run in the England team?

****ing none, because we were insisting that we play our wonder team of Gerrard and Lampard in midfield. Never worked, never will.

Welbeck, Parker, Sturridge, Richards, Cleverly, Oxade-Chamberlain all add some bite into their positions. And some pace. One thing we have lacked for about 6 years is tempo.

That is like playing spot the odd one out, Parker isn't the future of England, he has one or two tournaments maximum in him and he isn't as good as many make out. He is a 31 year old holding midfielder who doesn't have pace and doesn't have the experience in major competitions. He got outdone at the weekend against Arsenal by pace and power, and he showed in that game why I think he isn't the one to be building a midfield around.

Believe me he is and Spurs wouldn't be sitting where they are now without him thats a FACT - ask Harry ;) - face it he is going to be in there regardless because Pearce likes him and if Harry takes over he is guaranteed a start

Then please dont associate me with your nonsene talk about football, especially when your not qualified too, Parker is the best English central midfiled player in the Premeirship this year, FACT.

OPTIMA stats will tell you so, hes the most consistent, name me your midfield we cant be blooding young kids so close the the Euros, we need some depth and a holding midfield player like Parker breaks it down week in week out, if you dont concede you cant get beat.

On Sunday Spuds were over run all over the park and probably put in their worst display this year, you cant pin that on one player they were simply awful even when they went 2-0 up.

    Whos your team?

    I say, wing clipping - that's a tad strong :)

Superb news that Gerrard is NOT Captain just hope he doesn't make the team either

Of course RV has the right horse. He has his finger on the pulse.
I expected a big run from him on his debut and despite support for a couple of the others in the market he did not dissapoint.
It remains to be seen how good the form is but the way he went about his business you have to believe that he is a serious Festival Bumper contender. Hold off backing him though as he surely would not be risked on firmish ground.
If he takes part he will go close and Fontwell may start to get noticed as the place to look for Festival bumper types!

Here we go, because I don't glory hunt like most people I am not worthy of a view <laugh> I am proud, as you know, to support Chesterfield.

My team for the Euro's would be -

    Hart

    Walker, Richards, Jones, Cole

    Barry

    Milner Gerrard

    Oxlade Young

    Sturridge (with Rooney replacing him)

2 midfielders from the team who could win the title, with Gerrard as the explosive midfielder (replace with Wilshire if he is fit)

The defence is weaker than I would like but they are the future for England, and why not blood them now, Germany did so with their youngsters.
