Morning all from a cloudy island. As today is leap day, I wonder how many women are going to follow the traadition and take the opportunity to ask their man to marry them?

As for those who said you'll sponsor pie and/or me, I'll find out how you're able to when I receive the letters confirming our registration.

Góðan daginn til allra. Cappuccino, coffee, tea donuts and fruit are on the bar.

    I missed 5000 <bubbly>

Is dry and warm today, the snow is going again. Veðurstofa Íslands say rain today, but we can have everything in a few hours so they will be right at sometime.

    Can somebody answer these questions.

Portsmouth are in trouble with the tax people and are in administration again. They have had points removed, perhaps for a second time they need an increased total as a repeat offence is always worse but that is another discussion. I read they have little money and may not finish the season but I also ready they are in court with the taxman, then they have two weeks to find a solution, they are in court with the taxman again and they have another two weeks to find a solution, then they are in court with the taxman again, then they more time to find a solution. How long do they have before the court says enough this stops now?

I know the court and tax office are supposed to be separate organisations both really are different parts of the same machine so why do they not talk to each other. Will the tax man ever get the money he thinks he should have and if this is not to happen why is he wasting his time and the nations money chasing Portsmouth FC? A company in bad health like this should be closed.

Portsmouth gambled twice, lost twice. Southampton gambled twice, lost once, and are well placed to get into the Premier League second time around.

Outlaw professional football in Hampshire for five years I say. Maybe that'll teach them.

The taxman has had a bee in it's bonnett about football clubs for a long time now. They want to make an example of someone, and for the 2nd time, this just happens to be Portsmouth. I don't think they care if they go into liquidation if it means clubs are more careful in the future with their spending. They also don't like the fact that the HMRC aren't a 'preferred' creditor, whereas football clubs are. They want this rule changed so other creditors are on an even field getting their money back.

I'm probably in the minority but I do have little sympathy with Portsmouth this time around. People questioned them when signing players on £20k a week when they were told they had to have an 'average' wage bill of £10k a week, with their defence being that it evened itself out. Supporting a team that has a wage cap self-emposed of just £5k a week, I can't sympathise with them getting into trouble again! I hope they don't fall out of existance, but you wonder if it might be the best for them to have a clean slate. I also think Administration should mean an automatic relegation too! 10 points isn't enough of a detterent!

As a Hampshire resident...the locals wouldn't be happy. Some bad management at both clubs but for the fans' sake I hate to see any club disappear...could be us one day...

I am with you Salisbury - I have no sympathy for Portsmouth either. Since their last admin they have continued to pay ridiculous wages to football mercenaries, so they deserve all they get. It's is time to loose a few clubs and kill this cycle of cheating...

The suggestion was tongue in cheek and punitive, but I do raise a serious point. The first priority of a club coming out of administration should be to recapitalise, consolidate, and if this process does leave them at a historically low level, ensure that once this process is complete they are in a position to get back up the pyramid through the club's own means. In my opinion clubs coming out of administration should be subject to a cap on the amount that new players can be paid, determined by the club's revenue and the league they are competing in.

Morning all. Its taken a sudden cold turn up here. It was sunny and warm last week, but not now! I see Scott Parker has been given the armband for the match tonight. An interesting choice, but not a bad one i dont think. Good luck to him.

Im not holding my breath lol, but there are a couple of people i know who did do that. Its a nice touch, but i still think the guy should ask.

Ok, let me know and i will sponsor you both.

We are expecting the price of car fuel to go up. At the moment it is ÍSK254.40 for petrol and ÍSK260.10 for diesel or GBP1.28 or GBP1.31
