You don't seem to get the distinction, so I'll explain. Nobody feels sorry for the people who got Portsmouth FC into their present state. Who we feel sorry for is the decent and loyal fans that live and breathe Pompey, just as there are decent and loyal Saints fans. Yes, the owners of the club have had their day in the Sun, as you put it, and nobody is getting all teary eyed about them, I assure you.

Now, is that an adequate enough explanation for you..?

Which ones are the 'decent' fans, are the ones who chant ''we sent the scummers down'' 'decent', are the ones who wished death upon SFC and celebrated it wildly 'decent', are the fans who chanted during the minutes silence for Ted Bates 'decent', were the fans who were happy about an alleged gun dealer buying them an FA cup 'decent'? is the youngest hooligan in English football history 'decent', you'll find that none of them are 'decent'.

Well, I think if we all had your obviously open minded attitude, the world would be a better place.

There are plenty of decent skates.I know a few pompey fans that would like to see us go up and they think we will.I have a bit of banter with them and that, but I know what you are saying, there are a lot of "nasty" pompey fans around, just ignore them.

So the decent Pompey fans are the ones who didn't agree with Gaydamaks spending and the clubs success, who didn't chant during the minutes silence, who weren't at the south coast derby (because there were 16,000 pompey fans chanting 'we sent the scummers down'), who showed sympathy to Saints 100%.

you find me someone who was objecting to the clubs overspending and 2008 cup win, at that time! (as in, genuinely expressing the concern of the gun dealing and the vile way that they achieved success) and I will personally post a long winded apology.

Personally, I think I didn't disagree with Gaydamak's spending because I was naive enough to think that we could afford it and perhaps that Gaydamak wasn't that bad as I didn't know his business details. Not sure whether that makes me a terrible fan, I guess by your logic it might.

Oh and Comrade, I don't think I've ever chanted the S word, even if I was at the derby.

In fairness, I don't remember ever thinking 'oh, this owner of pompey's seems a bit dodgy', it was more 'ahh ffs how have pompey won the cup while we're just surviving in the championship <wah>'

Hindsight is often a wonderful thing, but this isn't really one of those occasions.

If Nicola started spending wildly (I know..never going to happen) and we won the FA Cup, how many of us would question it deeply? You presume the money's there. I know several Pompey fans, even my own brother, and they were sympathetic to my face in our bad times, so I am to them now. I admit to being a bit smug and big up Saints in a kindly way:grin:

I remember in 2008 posting a thread on the Pompey vital site, about Arcadi Gaydamak being charged with gun dealing and money laundering in Angola, pointed out that his son was using his fathers fortune to fund the club, and that not only was the clubs success being funded by a gun dealer, but that the spending couldn't be supported by the clubs profits.

I was called a filthy scummer and told to **** off and then they preceded to joke about how I wouldn't have a club to support.

Hate to say I was right... about Pompey fans, and about your clubs vile business practices.

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS, and all that.

****ing hell, even some Saints fans are buying into this "Pompey victimhood".

You find me more than a dozen of the 13,000 Blue Few who are decent and I'll run naked from SMS to Fratton Park.

The supporters I feel sorry for are the Blackpool's, Barnsley's, Burnleys, Millwalls of the world, clubs that have done things the right way. Blackpool didn't use taxpayers and charities money to stay in the top flight, they ran a proper budget and unfortunatly ended up relegated. They are the supporters I feel sorry for.

As for all this nonsense about "the supporters". They were the ones singing "one Peter Storrie", they were the ones booing during Ted's silance, and they are the ones who still complain about transfer bans ect, and how it's unfair that they cant fill their bench. Other sides have taken their punishment and got on with it, not the Skates, yet again they are the victims. Anyone can make a mistake, but only a fool keeps making the same mistake over and over again. What's that, 3 admin's in the modern game?

Perhaps if the City really backed the club, instaed of being plastic supporters, contrast the "pack the park" gate with the cup parade, but they cant even fill their poxy "ground". Yet we're supposed to buy into this one club nonsense. Solant were at it again, waffling on about the protest afterwards. When I saw the pictures, it was laughable. About 100 bellringers milling around in an empty stand.

Even their most famous fan and head bell ringer cant be bothered to get to the games in time for kick off. Sums it up really.
