With the pace City are setting the premiership I am surprised United are still hanging on to their coat tails. Scholes said that United may need to win all their matches to win the title. I think he is right. City has pulversied most teams at home. The only and slight sliver of hope for United is that City are not as powerful away from home. And they had the tendency to lose points if they have an off day. BUT Toure is back and Tevez could play too. United as inconsistent as they have been throughout the whole season will need to beat City at the Etihad but if they did that they would have deserved the title. We only need wins now. Goal difference is massively in City's favour too.
I reckon your game against the spuds this weekend is very important. City play Bolton and really should win. But this is football so you just never know. It's still open-ended.
I'm not convinced Tevez can behave himself between now and the end of the season. He could still disrupt them as the pressure mounts.
But City still have to go to Swansea,Norwich Arsenal etc where we just scapped wins so we can only hope
If we want to come first I expect we'll have to win at the Wastelands and pretty much every other game as well.
I never write united off, but I really cannot see us winning every game till the end of the league to win this thing
This. City are going great at home but have looked very vulnerable away from home - they only got three points from five games against Everton, Sunderland, Chelsea, Fulham and West Brom, whereas we got ten from just four of those. I reckon they'll drop another four or five points against some of Swansea, Stoke, Norwich, Arsenal and Newcastle away. The big question will be whether we can get past Spurs and pick up a result at the council house. If we get three points this weekend then City will really feel the pressure in every away game for the rest of the season.
United must win, city can afford to draw or even lose judging by our form. We need to step up a gear and they need to step down one, its a hard ask
You are most probably right, but I just get the feeling this might go the same way as 2009 - everyone looking at that game saying "that's when it'll be decided", but the title race might be all over bar the shouting by the time that game comes around. I reckon one of the teams might have built a four or five point lead by then, unfortunately it probably won't be us.
It's one of those games where you might be better off needing to win it. I can see Mancini getting twitchy if he thinks a draw is good enough. But you're right, it might not even come to that.
I think city will have to beat you to win the title. I think they will beat you though. But I think you will win almost every other match. Head to head I think they have it over you mentally and crucially they have players in toure and silva who can really dominate you. Plus your defence is weak vs small fast players like aguero.
Holt is primed and ready for City.Hope to take two - or possibly three points off them at a crucial stage. "Come on - Let's be 'avin you"
You can watch it with your chum. I think probablt the Cheese for that one, as I'd probably suffer GBH at the Bridge Bar YOu'd be OK though
I think it is entirely possible City will drop 6 points or more between now and the end. They have not actually set anything like a great pace, they've dropped plenty of points too. If they had set such a pace you'd be far more than two off them at this stage. If UNited go till the end with 2 draws and 10 wins, including 6 pointer city game, then its in the bag
Bridge bar it is then This is true. It all depends on which Utd show up for the rest of the season. If it's the one that sees the finish line and goes straight for it we're home safe. If it's the one that turns up expecting to stroll the 'easy' CL group then we're ****ed...
