This is what I mean when I argue that a good finisher isn't always just the one with the most goals. Statistically Barmby only scored once this season but we know he was a good finisher when he played.
Do you expect Barmby to come out in the media and go we bloody useless and hopeless in front of goal and we are in crisis. You have struggled to score goals all season and arent too far off the play offs so its not the end of the world if you dont get a striker, while yes you need one, Robbie Fowler isnt the answer
The thing that worries me, is that Fowler was 'portly' shall we say, at the best of times. Now, he's been in semi-retirement for a number of years, and the last time I saw him sat on the bench at some Aussie game I thought he was a fan. He was a fat ****, basically. Maybe a few years ago, perhaps. I think he's finished now. The Championship is a pretty high standard, and I just can't see him being up to it at this stage of his career. How old is he now? I know I've just written him off, but I don't actually know his true age.
