One things for sure - this will at least keep SSL happy...giving him greater chance of always being picked (although thats not in doubt at the mo as he is playing some great footy)

I had a feeling he might, he was said to be going to make his mind up today, no news this morning probably means it ain't happening

All getting a bit baffling - if he has turned Leeds down why?

    1) He must think he can turn it around here sometime soon
    2) It's too cold for him 'oop North'
    3) He's scared of Walshy - who has written an article in the local paper telling him to 'knuckle down' and sort himself out
    4) His ginger beard will clash horribly with that white strip
    5) The prospect of Ken and Barbie (Colin's latest persona manifestation) is just too Mills & Boon ... I'll get my coat ..

Matt Mills played for the reserves today so it does seem highly unlikely he would play for our reserves and then sign for Leeds

Neil Warnock is trying to change alot of the team, Leeds lost Howson and replaced him with Delph who is now injured. They just signed Danny Webber who has been useless everywhere he has been. And now Matt Mills has turned them down.

    Not looking good for them

I am quite happy for all of Graysons loan signings to go back, Delph included. We were not setting the division alight with them so as far as I am concerned no loss. Mills would have been a good signing but what we never had we won't miss and I was gob smacked that NP even considered loaning him out... Considering we still have an outside chance of promotion and considering our current position to Leicester why on earth was he willing to help assist a rival team???

I am not enthralled by the prospect of Webber but Leeds got Warnock in because of his man management of players and what he can get out of them. Anyone he signs I am willing to sit on the fence and wait and see what happens... Not looking good for Leeds? It hasn't been for a long time, we are no better or worse off than we were on the day Howson got injured.

Not looking good but not looking a disaster either, at least we got a decent replacement in for Grayson, proof of the pudding will be close season and how we start out next season.

The year we made the play offs we loaned Blackpool DJ Campbell and he scored the goals what took them to the prem. Nigel loaned you Gradel albeit you was a lower league team but then sold him for peanuts. Nigel does do some questionable things sometimes but Nigel did say Mills could still have a future but it depends so its still possible he will leave but i dont think he will be joining you. I dont think Mills fancies Leeds

Bit of background on the 'bust-up' from TalkSport's Geoff Peters on FoxesTalk:

    "Nobody nutted anyone.

Mills took the piss out of Pearson (to his face) which didn't go down very well, as expected, and given that Pearson already had serious doubts over the player's ability and didn't like his ego, it was no surprise he was frozen out."

Whether that is true I don't know. But if he does have a future, there is one thing that will make it difficult for him - he is 4th choice and will do well to make the bench now. With SSL, we ran out of fit defenders and so HAD to play him and it went from there. But I'm not sure Mills, barring another injury crisis, will get an opportunity to play in the team.

Is Mills really that stupid to take the piss out of the manager in front of his face unless Mills meant in light heartedly and Nigel took offence.

Same with what i said about St. Ledger, he was about to be sold only for Nigel to put the brake on at the end because we had no defenders and then St. Ledger played himself off the transfer list

Nigel does fall out with alot of players but never players he signs, so it shows how much homework Steve Walsh does on players, not just their ability but also some background on the player

Nigel has fell out with Joe Mattock, DJ Campbell, Ian Stringer, Gelson Fernandes, Michael Johnson, Sean St. Ledger, Matt Mills and Gavin Ward

Mattock - not Nigels fault but Holloways and his own as we got relegated and he thought he was too big to play for the team he supports in League 1.
DJ Campbell - Did he and Nigel actually fall out or was it a good footballing decision to get rid of a player that was playing rubbish in the Championship and League 1 and then to stick with the players that got us promoted?
Ian Stringer - He is a radio commentator, not a player, why is he on your list? They've since kissed and made up anyway.
Johnson - Did they fall out? Personally I put him on the same level as Stringer as did he ever actually play a game for us?
Fernandes - only came for Sven, nothing to do with Nigel.
St Ledger - All his fault as he threw his toys out of the pram when he was dropped for playing rubbish, although it did cause his balls to drop so could be considered good management in a certain light.
Matt Mills - deserved to be dropped, his bad performances outweigh his good plus if Geoff Peters is correct he is a dick, what manager would take that from his captain?
Gavin Ward - eh? Only Gavin Ward I know is our keeper from 20 odd years ago.

Gavin Ward is the ref, that one was a bit tongue in cheek

I agree with your points but its still not good for a manager to fall out with a lot of people. I am fully behind Nigel and yes he is the manager so things need to be his way but it doesnt always have to be his way or the high way

I think Nigel Pearson is a manager who has to have a squad that buy into his ethos and way of doing things more so than other managers and that is usually the case with disciplinarians. For example, at Hull, at the start, he didn't have that and so they were down the league but when he got a squad that he wanted, they were right up there fighting for promotion.

He's certainly zero tolerance when it comes to discipline but I don't think that is a bad thing necessarily. Different manager's have different styles and there is no definitive way to do things. If it is what works best for Nigel and gets the best results for our team, then fine by me.

But sometimes i wonder is he as hard faced with the players sometimes as he is with the media. Sometimes he looks offended when the media ask him some questions and he gives a bullish response

    Hmmm, maybe.

I think it's fair to say that media duties aren't his favorite aspect of the job! But his man-management has always been his greatest strength and he does get the players who buy into his way playing for him and get the best out of them.
