Quick question - There were quite a few banners on Sunday about not buying The Sun Newspaper, but I noticed that in the Sun's Dream Team Competition, there are more Liverpool fans entered than any other team - why is this?

Because (as your avatar clearly demonstrates) ignorance is rife.

I would seriously want to reasses my life if I had nothing better to do than be a WUM on an internet forum. Especially with undertones of a tragedy that claimed the lives of 96 people.

    Really really sad.

    My god, an educated soul!

To take this WUM and give a boring serious, non-bitey answer, it is because of ignorance. People wave those banners to educate those who are too young to remember.

Let us be frank, the s*n is aimed at people with a reading age of 5 years old. Since they can't read joined up handwriting, it is fair to consider that the readership have never read about Hillsborough. Also, since they are probably not from Liverpool, there is not going to be a parent/elder/Jedi master figure to guide them away from such evil.

I've not seen figures of late, but I am supposing that the numbers in Merseyside are still far below the national average. I was in Tesco yesterday, and one of the staff made me aware of a £5 off voucher in the Mirror. He went on to say, that he wouldn't of told me about it, if it was in the s*n.
