Hull, exciting? First i've heard that With defenders like Hobbs and bringing in strikers like Adebola it seemed fairly apparent that you did play are more direct game. What I didn't realise was that Nige played what he could with the squad he had, just like he did with us at the first go. We played big man little man direct play, efficient football if you like. I branded him as an 'Aidy Boothroyd/Sam Allardyce' type manager. Not so much enjoyable but the kind to grind results out. I think you all said yourselves that Nige turned the side around and got you playing passing football. We're now playing 'better' football that we did under Sven. Strange, but I think it highlights just how good Nige is.
I did indeed say that Nige had switched to playing better football this season, it was dire last season, though you scoffed at that suggestion. Though it wasn't even close to the quality of football that Barmby plays. As for Adebola, it was Nigel who brought him in, Barmby doesn't like old blokes who can't play football, he hasn't appeared for us since November, nor will he ever play for us again. You can have him if you like, Nigel must rate him, he signed the giraffe.
Like all those goals your players scored against us last time? And as for Barmby not liking old blokes who cant play football..thats very hypocritical..he was one for the last 5 years of his career
We were utter dog ****e at your place, though fortunately it was our only really dire performance of the season and hopefully we'll redeem ourselves next week. Barmby was so **** he got us from League One to the Premier League within four years. I wish all our players were as **** as him(if he stuck his boots back on he could still outclass either of our strike forces, so long as it was a short game).
What exciting about watching your team have loads of shots but you know they wont score in a month of sundays. We got relegated with great football, not conceding goals and not scoring. Its boring As a neutral either Peterborough or Blackpool have to be the most exciting to watch as for goals
We don't score enough for the chances we create but we do score, don't you remember, we put two past you.
You celebrated both like you won the World cup. Return fixture isnt too far away now and we can get some revenge
Hull play exciting football. Leeds play heart-attack football. Leicester play dull football. Lonergan is average. Kasper has a weak mentality, but decent technique. Disputations settled?
our 4th choice center back now despite his price tag. may aswell let him go out to keep match fit then sell him in summer and recoup some of the money
Have to say I've always been a fan of Barmby, even in his twighlight, old pro's who were excellent in their prime still seem to have a positive influence on a team - the recently pensioned off / retired Paul Scholes being a prime example currently - I'm also old enough to remember Eddie Kelly playing for us many years ago .. class act - always seemed to have time and space combined with the ability to both control and pass.
.. the thread started spiralled into a bout of Hull / Leicester 'banter' rather unfortunately - but at least it was fairly good natured ...
