The signings he made of Titoe and Ben Arfa, appear to have been very astute and underperformers have been rejuvenated. Seems as if CH knows this football stuff? History ââ¬â whether recent or not ââ¬â gets you no points in this league, so ââ¬Å5 ââ¬â 1ââ¬Â or ââ¬Åyo-yo clubââ¬Â are worth precisely NOTHING. It is the present and future that count and from where I and (I reckon 99.9%) of most neutrals stand SAFC are in an immeasurably better position than the team from NE1. My point is you think you are better than you are, whereas infact you are only 2 points ahead. History does count for something imo as it is what future players of the club go off when making a decision, they take current circumstances into consideration, but Bent leaving for Villa even when they are worse is a prime example. In our case, it can all change over 90 minutes, and then we would be above you, what would be said then? No one expected us to finish above you, infact no one expected us to be where we are, but if this joke of a club can still manage to do well and at one point be in with a shout of Europe, it makes you wonder what we could do if we didn't have MA. For me SAFC are on a path of steady progression. We are far from where we would like to be, however the foundations have been laid and progress is being made - steadily and consistently - in the 5 year plan laid down by SAFC management. You are entitled to your opinion re historys worth, for me though, the departure of Bent and Carol showed the worth of it to modern professionals. NUFC acheivements this season were (imo) down to Hughton, disgraceful treatment of him. Pardew as a replacement? No good saying if MA wasn't here - if he wasn't NUFC would have been in administration! We could have said the same about our previous chairmen/owners. As I said, which set up would people choose between SAFC and NUFC, NOW???
