Apologies for being off topic everyone!

My XBOX 360 has just broken, it won't read discs, and my warranty has run out, so it will cost about £80 to repair. I was thinking about buying the new XBOX 360 elite and was wondering if anyone here has got it?

I want to know if it is worth spending £170 on a new console and if anybody has experienced problems with the new XBOX 360 elite? Also has anybody else experienced problems with their XBOX regarding reading the discs?

Cheers in advance and if I have bored anyone then here is a nice picture!

Do you mean the new version, the smaller, sleeker quieter one that has WI-FI built in? If so, go for it, I dont have it personally but have mates who have made the upgrade and they are chuffed with it, apparently all the issues that made the old ones break down all the time has been solved and its a much better console, getting one myself as soon as I get paid :)

    Edit: shes facking hawwwwt!

Ahh that sucks then. Try trading it in I suppose? The new Xbox is meant to be class though, going by what friends have said.

I upgraded and the new one is quieter (can have the tv below 10 and hear it for a change), loads faster, don't use the wireless as I have a wired connection for both my ps3 and 360 (less lag/higher download speeds) but I have used it before I installed the wires and it was decent enough, doesn't overheat and not had a problem with any crashes of games yet. Well worth the upgrade IMO - also if you know about computers I'd get the 4gb one as it's flash memory then either pay the extra for a official 250gb giving you 254gb or you can format a SATA 2.5" Hard drive with a certain program (I can send you the link with instructions) to work with xbox and then buy a case from eBay (250gb 2.5" sata hd - £30 and the case is £7) and it slots in just like the official hd & casing.
I would have done that myself, but the 250gb one was a gift for Xmas.

Basically if ur xbOx just say open try instead of reading the disc, u can reset your reader by turning on the xbox by pressing the disc open button on the xbox as soon as it open remove your disc them slam the disc tray u shud hear a whirring noise after that has finished turn off turn on put disc it and it should read, it might take a few try's but it works
