Some people i have spoken to rate him others don't. So what do you think about him?

Personally i think he's not bad and could improve.

Would probably help if you spelt his name right first - Dan Seaborne.

I have no issue with him , need his balance at the back at times as he's good on the ball and he can actually play at LCB with him being naturally left-footed.

Wouldn't last 5 minutes in the Championship however.

Every team has the main players you want to see every week and some that you don't mind if they have to step in. Seaborne is one of those. He doesn't excite me, but I don't mind that he's playing.

Don't rate him what so ever. All he does is hoof the ball, he's pretty cllumsy and always gives away needless free-kicks and sumtimes penalties, waste of money imo i have not seen him had 1 good game, Aaron martin is by far the better prospect

You have a real downer on Seaborne don't you. You can't of watch Seaborne much this season as he has had several good games. Perhaps blinkered. He for one doesn't hoof the ball & is our ball playing left sided CB. Which Martin tried to be at the Yeovil game & failed getting caught on the ball. Its always better to have a naturally left footed player than someone playing left side but all right foot. Seaborne will do well & has done well in his career. It doesn't help, people like you slating a Saints player. IMO We should be behind the whole team & give them all our support not run down individuals & singling them out . I do think Martin will develop into a good player one day, but at this stage really lacks experience at 21, which showed in his last game. If he was better than Seaborne he would of played in front of him all season or even been on the bench. He had the advantage to make that shirt his at the beginning of the season when Seaborne was injured but this obviously didn't happen. Good Luck to Seaborne & his team mates & Im hoping he will be featuring more again now he is back from injury.

Just don't rate him sorry, we can get away with him at this level but if we go up that is it, I think he is clumsy and has probably given away more penalties than any other Southampton player this season. He gets in the way in the air and I have seen him and Fonte screaming at each other several times.

Not the best, but I wouldn't go as far as saying he's a liability. He'll probably be sold or playing in the reserves if we're in the Championship next season though.

I rate Seaborne & think he has done well for us this season. Good in the air, naturally left footed. Can pass the ball out from the back. Offers us different options to Jaidi. Think he is underrated by some posters on here who seem intent on running the poor lad down every time. Give the lad a chance. Same old tune Saintsfan4life. Martin may be up & coming ( But When ? ) Have to agree with others on here Martin not featured enough & at his age should have at least 10 plus first team games played this season. You may have potential but you have to earn that place to show it. Seems Seaborne & Jaidi are in front of him & rightly so IMO.
Would love to see Seaborne played more as he has been the most consistent when played. Sadly he has been hampered by injuries this season which has effected his run in the team & let the machine Jaidi have his chance again. And boy has Jaidi done this playing out of his socks. Good battle between these quality CB's Jaidi & Seabourne.

Got to say good post in support of Seaborne. Like me seems you rate him as highly as I do. I have met him when he was injured. What a top bloke. Talked about his back injury & how frustrated he is when not playing. His words " I'm a complete nightmare to live with, just ask my family & the lads Hahaha". Came across as a key team member & spoke so positive about everyone in the squad. I was really impressed with him & several of us all agreed how well he mixed & came across as a sound saints player. The crowd loved him & he had all the time in the world for us laughing and having a bit of banter. Also heard after this he is one of the lads in the changing room & in on all the pranks. Apparently he is really popular his team mates love him.

I feel that there was a time earlier in the season that the Seaborne Fonte partnership was looking like something which had real potential, and Seaborne was actually getting the ball down and passing out from the back a bit. He has had a couple of shockers (most notably Peterborough away) but hardly anyone in the team hasn't had at least one nightmare game this season. I say give the lad a bit more of a chance to prove himself; if he proves himself up to it, then he could blossom into really quite a decent player. However, I feel if he doesn't get the playing time, he may well end up on the Saints scrapheap...

Good point about Seaborne / Fonte partnership. Like you I think he did look good before his injuries & with Jaidi as experienced & determined as he is these 2 have battled all season for the shirt. Seaborne is only early 20's & I think some people think he is older due to his playing career & back to back promotions for Exeter where he was captain at a really young age. He is only 2 years older than Martin & what a difference in playing history & feathers to his bow. I'm sure if he is settled again alongside Fonte he will earn his shirt. After his Peterborough performance where he was poor, then picking up an injury I bet he is dying to get back in the swing of things.
Have to agree every player has shockers not just Seaborne it's how they pick themselves up & perform next time if they are lucky to play the next game.

The person who impresses me most with how quickly he turns his game around after a bad game is actually Dan Harding. He's had a few bad games for Saints, but has still managed to be one of Saints most consistent performers (in my opinion, I know there are plenty of people who think differently) and is one of our most intelligent players with the ball at his feet.

Seems you & me are on the same wave length. I rate Dan Harding & think he plays well alongside Seaborne. Yes he has had some shockers & been taken off the pitch which i hate, but sometimes it has to be done for the players sanity. Great bloke & player. I can't understand like Seaborne how much criticism he gets. They give 150% sometimes players can try too hard to try to please people. Great player & deserves another contract IMO & I expect yours.

I thought Seaborne had a cracking game against Man Utd but then marred it with a complete mare at Peterborough, where I thought he had a hand in two of their goals possibly three - how different things would look if they hadn't scored those?

I am convinced that Sebo wasn't fully fit at Peterborogh, I suspect that he had an injury which has not been revealed.
