They only show 2 of Saints goals, saying you can see them all on late kick off tonight, and then proceeded to show all the goals from all the other local teams, plus a dull soundbite from Poyet, plus the usual bullshit praising 14,000 pompey fans for actually turning up. ****ing incredible. Saints go top of the league. We are EASILY the best supported and most successful south coast team right now and still we get less coverage.
Not the point. That show is in the small hours. This is their main bulletin and it's ALWAYS saints that they cut back on, not bloody skates or brighton
Don't forget 5mins of Eddie Mitchell looking pissed out his face again. South Today is a joke, I bet if we go up as champions, we will get about 2mins air time.
it doesn't matter if we're top, Brighton's super mid table campaign is focused on more... because nobody ever cares about Saints, they're too busy feeling 'sorry' for those vile blue lot down the road.
Has made me laugh how Radio Solent especially has been having pops at the football league over Pompey's debacle. Yet I can't remember Solent or the BBC or Meridian asking one single question of Pompey's owners when they took it over. Back then, they just reported it straight as if it was a great thing for Pompey with rich new owners! So talk about being bloody pious after the event. But I guess thats what journalism is all about these days. None of them did any digging on CSI, Antonov, Gaydemak and all the other clowns at the time of them taking over PFC. The likes of Tony Husband just likes to look smug thanks the wonderful gift of hindsight. Cocks.
listen to u lot moaning about coverage...who cares? we are top of the league, and as al pacino said...no one notices the quiet one, the unknown. id rather have it this way, somehow seems better that we just get on, do our job and stay focused. i understand it's frustrating but seriously, you women must have better worries like what handbag will go with what frock for the weekend
If you are trying to be funny, then it usually a good starting point to contain some humour in your post.
Poyet shortlisted as manager of the year, Brighton Brighton Brighton... what have they achieved that we haven't?!
South Today pick one of the following of each: 1) Which manager gets more coverage? NA - a less known manager to the football world leading his team top of the Championship and chasing back to back promotions Gussssss - ex-footballer that has a habit of moaning about anything and everything that doesn't even involve his team... 2) Club Saints - top of the league, back to back promotions? 2 players shortlisted for player of the year! P*mpey - for having the bestest fans in the world 3) Player of the year It will be Whitingham - simply coz he scored 1 penalty in the shoot out at Wembley yesterday But as has been said, WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE!
Don't you just hate the press though? we're top of the league, the best in the south, doing everything... and yet the entire footballing world are too busy feeling sorry for those bastards down the road because they got themselves into financial troubles again for acting like a spastic in a window factory and getting themselves back into admin... which is obviously not at all their own fault... and then Brighton... the homo's are mid table, and this is obviously a bigger achievement than being TOP OF THE LEAGUE, and that horrible little monkey Poyet is given praise for doing **** ALL. and then Bournemouth because Eddie Mitchells pissed someone off... then it's oxford and Swindon - why?! aldershot... why?! and finally the slight mention that WE'RE TOP OF THE LEAGUE.
its probably because Saints deliberately keep the press at arms length (putting it politely) and in return we get the bare minimum of coverage
True, when you suck the cocks of the media like Redknapp, you can get away with anything. On balance, think I would prefer to keep them at arms length as the last year has proven that much of the media are scum sucking lowlifes who would stoop to anything to get a story. BBC South are not on that level clearly, their main crime is just being a bit rubbish.
Well, they were Champions; they've got a shiny new stadium, which everybody likes [it is quite nice apparently], and I'm sure I've heard the description of plucky used, when describing them at a certain point in the last year - probably when they started to lose. This in itself, almost guarantees the whole club endless awards from Here to Timbuktoo. Of course, if Saints didn't play such crap football, have such a crap manager and hadn't bought their way to promotion, with as much money as Carlos Slim Helú might throw at them, then they might be in with a ghost of a chance of being in the list of honourable losers. But as it stands there can be only one winner.
