Fulham linked to former Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra Whilst I think this is just lazy journalism as us and Stoke are in Europe, I don't think this would be a bad signing. Diarra has the talent but has suffered for chasing the money moves. No transfer fee would be required and he'd certainly improve the squad. However, I think this is an unlikely signing - he'll take bigger money at Stoke, based on his previous record. We don't desperately need midfielders, so I don't think missing out on Diarra would be too disappointing.
Sounds like very lazy journalism, he was clearly quoted as saying he likes the premier league and therefore stoke and fulham are perceived to fit the criteria. However, I remember being impressed with him back in his pompey days and certainly wouldn't complain if this came off, however unlikely that would be.
I wouldn't look too much into this. It seems like a rumour for the sake of filling up some empty space at the bottom of a gossip column. Good player though.
No WDWW, Drogba was probably just rushing to the ticket office to make sure of a seat for the NSI game. Jol is pursuing youth, not fading superstars.
That's what we need: and old, over-priced midfielder to replace ... who, Murphy? Unless Scott Parker comes up for sale, cheap, I'll stay with Murphy.
Yes, I guess it's a done deal. Free transfer, but the man hasn't kicked a ball in anger since the summer. It will take him a month just to get fit enough for the reserves. I think Murphy and Dembele as a middle midfield tandem is fantastic, probably the best pair we've had in the middle in the nine or so years I've followed the team. Why do we need someone else? Sidwell will be health at some point. Etuhu is a very good defensive frontman. I can't see the benefit of having this guy around. And, yes, I know Parker's 30. But he's still amazing. If I had my pick any middle midfielder in the league, Parker would be third behind Silva and Yaya Toure.
