First off Congratulations Liverpool, I hope you can go on to get the FA Cup as well.
Moments I'll never forget, both sets of fans were magnificent and ensured the game will be remembered for the right reasons, Heatons penalty save from Gerrard I don't think I've ever seen a better one, our young lad Gestede who could hardly walk to take his penalty, the guts and determination of our players to fight til the end, Kenny's smile after winning that took me back to his playing days, both sets of team owners applauding and hugging both teams, Alan Hansens quote "I want Liverpool to win but I don't want Cardiff to lose" lol, I felt so sorry for Anthony, I hope he can put it behind him quickly, Downing's stamina he looked fresh enough to go again at the end.
At the moment I'm still gutted but so immensely proud of our lads but with such a small squad I just hope we can recover quick enough to complete the double over West Ham next week, thanks to all the lads that joined in the banter over the past few days, it's been a pleasure.

If you can take half of the spirit that you displayed on Sunday into the remainder of your season, then you'll stand a very good chance of promotion. We wish you all the best.

Well done Cardiff indeed. Not many people gave you a chance before the game but you went about your business on the pitch very well and pushed us to the last kick of the game. <ok> Hopefully you'll put in another great performance against West Ham this weekend and make it another great match to watch. <ok>

You guys have a lot to be proud of. You may not have won the trophy but you've earned a ****-tonne of respect (I mean that without a hint of patronization as you guys are a great club on the up)

the expectation after being up and then going 2-1 down was that the players were too tired after defending for the whole match and it would just fizzle out....couldnt be further from the truth, a moment of pure ecstasy when turner equalised, when gerrard and adam missed the pens i thought it would be our day, at the end it came down to johnson and a. gerrard. you could tell gerrard had never taken one in his life, and though he has my sympathy, he basically passed the ball to kuyt for his goal, and missed the target with his penalty.

nice touch by the cardiff fans to clap on bellamy and the liverpool players when they lifted the trophy.

one thing i would say about the liverpool fans though. maybe it was that they were on the other side of the pitch, but the phrase 'you only sing when you're winning' seemed to be apt, despite there being a sea of red throughout the stadium i thought they were quiet, even when kuyt scored i saw pockets of liverpool fans celebrating in the cardiff fan areas....

but football wise, no complaints, over the whole 120 mins liverpool deserved the win, well played <applause>

Swamp, unfortunately I wasn't at Wembley so from a TV point of view, both sets of fans were as loud as each other for the whole game <ok>

    fair enough <ok>

you were right about the liverpool fans getting their hands on tickets through hook or by crook...

the second tier was liverpool throughout the stadium, there were pockets of LFC fans in the cardiff area, liverpool somehow had far more tickets than we did... didnt affect the game but those tickets they had were meant for neutrals or cardiff supporters.....<ok>

I agree with Swamp H Bomb, the Liverpool fans only seemed to spring to life when they scored, but tbh it was one hell of a noise. However, I accept on TV it probably sounded more evenly matched - I'm probably biased. ;-)

And there were definitely "pockets" of 'Pool fans in Cardiff areas, shall we say there were 1 or 2 scuffles when they scored that the stewards had to deal with, and fair play they seemed to handle it well.

Liverpool seemed to have all the middle level. How did that happen?

One potentially nasty incident behind me (upper level behind the goal) when Liverpool scored - a family of 4 Liverpool fans, mother, father and 2 young children had to be escorted out with protection. Now if the parents wanted to chance their luck fine, but what were they doing bringing 2 young kids, and I mean young, one was no more than 2 or 3, into that environment?

This is not a criticism of Liverpool fans in general just the short sightedness of the parents - and how the hell did they get tickets for a Cardiff area?

they must have bought theirs off a cardiff fan who was ilegally touting his tickets.

pure and utter madness to bring children into an area like that. if i bought a liverpool area ticket i wouldnt celebrate when cardiff score, and i wouldnt wear anything blue, like i said before these people have taken tickets away from neutrals and cardiff fans, and openly celebrating oppoisition team goals in a cardiff area really takes the biscuit.

also the amount of liverpool supporters there (like i said before 2nd tier around the stadium fully liverpool), 31,000 each my arse <ok>

i dont want to turn this into a slagging match but it does need to be pointed out.. <ok>

A football match is no place for a 2 year old under any circumstances. The baby will never remember it anyway. I despair about some parents these days.

Think that is really harsh imo, Suarez had a tap in from 7 yards if Gerrard didn't stick a foot out.

Great bit of improvisation by Kuyt to finish first time.

Could not be more proud of our lads, we didn't get the result but Me and the family had a day out we'll never forget. The full rollercoaster of footballing emotions which sadly finished at the bottom but you had to enjoy the ride!

I had a fantastic time watching the game in a pub full of Liverpool fans of varying nationalities, Irish, American and Canadians and one scouser. Many beers and jaeger bombs later I awoke with a sore head and a smile at the memory of a fantastic Cardiff performance. Will have to watch it again on ccplayer. Well done Malky and the lads.
