The fact is that someone came in and offered the £1m a year he was looking for, we have absolutely no idea if other clubs were in for him, or of Blackburn were prepared to let him go if they had to pay half his wages, it's nothing but guess work so is hardly worth discussing. I can guarantee that if we had have been offered Ronaldo or Messi for £10k a week, they'd be City players.

Messi or Ronaldo!! That would just upset the delicate balance of the squad OLM. We have signed Josh King who is poor and not even getting a game now as we dont want to upset Matty and Aaron.

It's not worth discussing a situation where a PL player was prepared to drop to this level, that the club has publically stated we didn't even look at (as he's a striker and it was stated we didn't look at any), has since helped one of our playoff rivals go charging up the table whilst we struggle to score goals and have a manager criticising the defence that's just matched a club record whilst saying our forward play is wonderful?

I can understand the argument that Barmby was lieing when he said we weren't looking so that it wouldn't upset the existing strikers, but they're not exactly repaying us. And in terms of boosting their confidence surely it's more of a boost if he turns round and says we looked but we don't think there's anybody available at Championship prices that could improve us, than saying we didn't even look.

Whatever Nick has said publicly, we definitely did look, we definitely did agree to take a player, but he got back into his own squad and we missed out. I've no idea where we were are at the moment, I've not been given any new names, but I certainly wouldn't rule out us bringing someone in if we keep misfiring(the reason we didn't go for Sharp was financial).

or, looked at another way, we have a backlog of games due to other teams being more successful.

I think it could well be too little too late even if we do bring someone in. Those Donny & Brighton games are going to cost us I fear

Sorry totally disagree ^^^^^ this. Looking at the March fixtures for all the top 10 clubs many points will be dropped,,, they have to be. TWS could be big spoilers at the very least starting with Southampton on saturday @ 5.20 live on sky. No team has cut loose yet and only when all teams at the top have played the same number of games can anyone really make any accurate assumption of the top 2 or 3. Hold on tight,,, the March ride is about to start.

its never a good idea to bring anyone in who would unsettle the dressing room and atmosphere. weve had that already with Bullard. Listening to Jason Roberts on five live gob she-ite I dont like him at all. Bring back Savage plz ffs. Roberts is the type of player that would ruin all the good work done so far. Plus his goals have been down to poor defending. I dont think he is any better than what we have got, imo.

You constantly change your mind about when an 'accurate assumption' can be made. The first half of the season you kept banging on about January 1st being a good time to be able to make one, but even now you still discard people's predictions saying its too early.

other teams can say things like that. but yes, we have dropped so many points overall it is very annoying i agree. Losing 6 points to Burnley for starters annoys the heck out of me.

Poor defending or not, he has still scored goals, which will undoubtedly mean Reading finish above us. I understand we probably cannot afford him anyway but to say he is no better than what we have is a bit silly

imo, with the right coaching Fryatt and Mclean can score the goals we need. Composure in front of goal is all they lack.
