Now that's brought back some memories, cheers, (think I might have imagined the crossbar incident though!). I've still got the programme from that match.
Its mad when you watch clips back from many a year gone eh? i'm not sure if i've uploaded this one but have you seen this from 1984?? http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xh2hzn_hull-city-v-pne_sport
i just took a long through ur photos boothferry...my heart sank while lookin through the pics of the old park
I have seen that recently, (probably linked to from here somewhere). Promotion in that 84/85 season are my earliest memories of City really but I can't recall the details of the time so that's quite a fascinating match to see.
0 - 0 against Peterborough circa 1964 - can't remember much about the game but it was under floodlights and the fantastic green of the pitch left a huge impression. Next home game was a boring 0 - 0 with Colchester (Ron Rafferty broke his leg). Third was Barnsley and a fantastic first goal by Chris Chilton in a 2 -2 draw.
cheers that sounds right as we didn't make it to the FA cup match vs Liverpool but listened on the car radio.. I recall being 2-1 up at HT.. we were the first team to have lead LFC at HT all season..
great vid of City v PNE..top quality too nice.. Stan McEwan.. as I've probably already bragged that I used to play golf with him sometimes at Hainsworth park GC..
Sat 26 Feb 1966 MANSFIELD TOWN at home W 4-0 Division 3.... Sat in the best seats with my dad when i was a lad..
---------------------- Hey sutton tiger...i got hit on the head with half a brick at the end of that game , thrown by west ham fans stood on boothferry halt still we managed to ambush some of the cockney twats outside Paragon station after the game...
I can't remember the team we played but we won 2-0 and Paul hunter scored. He used to have a kick around with me and mates. I knew him on a personal level as him and David hockaday were my neighbours in Beverley, I think I was about 8 years old
Can't honestly remember early 80's, 82/3 can't recall who we played or the result! Can't even remember cost to get in!
