http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17177496 What is it with Levein picking players for his squad that are not getting a game at club level ... Goalkeepers: Allan McGregor (Rangers) Craig Gordon NOT PLAYING (Sunderland) Matt Gilks (Blackpool) Defenders: Christophe Berra (Wolverhampton Wanderers) Gary Caldwell (Wigan Athletic) Alan Hutton (Aston Villa) Charlie Mulgrew (Celtic) Grant Hanley NOT PLAYING (Blackburn Rovers) Russell Martin (Norwich City) Midfielders: Charlie Adam (Liverpool) Barry Bannan NOT PLAYING REGULARY (Aston Villa) Don Cowie (Cardiff City) Graham Dorrans (West Bromwich Albion) James Forrest (Celtic) Barry Robson (Middlesbrough) James Morrison (West Bromwich Albion) Robert Snodgrass (Leeds United) James McArthur NOT PLAYING REGULARY(Wigan) Forwards: David Goodwillie NOT PLAYING (Blackburn Rovers) Kenny Miller (Cardiff City) Jamie Mackie (Queens Park Rangers) NOT PLAYING Mackail-Smith (Brighton and Hove Albion) Why no McCormack of Leeds? No other SPL players doing well for their clubs worth a go?] Do you think Scotland can get a result?
Firstly, WHY IS THIS ON THE CELTIC BOARD? Secondly, I don't want any Celtic players playing internationals **** the SFA
It's on the Celtic and Scotland boards because 1) I'm a Celtic fan 2) I am Scottish 3) and, unlike you, as a Scotsman, I am interested in the national team. I am looking for Scottish Celtic fans points of view on the Friendly ...
Why the hell are we playing a friendly at this time of the season when we haven't even qualified for the Euros? Levein's a dick anyway.
Agree but he's the best Scotland could have got with the resources they have... It is a daft time for a Friendly - especialy an away one!
It is a daft time for a friendly If our under 21s weren't playing on Wednesday, it would be good to give most of them a run out against Slovenia who are meant to be a decent side. Because our best young players will be in the game against the Dutch, this is basically a chance for players outside of that U21 squad to remind Levein what they can do. After Muldini scores his first free kick, we'll wonder how we survived without him and with the likes of Bardsley at Left Back.
Forrest should actually be in the U21 squad, makes no sense to leave him out of a competitive squad for the U21's to put him in the senior squad for a friendly. We need our best young players playing against Holland
Exactly - Mulgrew at LB must be better than Bardsley (a right footed hacker) ... Or even at CB with Berra - get Heid tae ****!
So, the consensus seems to be that the best we can get out of this game is that Levein will realise that we've had a decent Left Back all along. That and the blazers gettin' their nasties aff Slovenian birds...
It's simple: Levein's a ****wit. The media seem to have swallowed Levein's propaganda that we're making real progress under his stewardship. I can't see it myself and don't expect us to qualify for major championships any time soon.
