I doubt it, as these are the guys that are considered assets that they can sell. It's the ****ey players on average money that would have no sale value that are ****ed.

Think about it, if you were skint, and had to get rid of some of your stuff, what would you do.

Get rid of the ****ey Corsa sitting in the driveway that's completely ****ed, and the scrappy wouldn't give you a tenner for, but is still costing you £100 a month to insure because you nedded it up and put a shopping trolley spoiler on it and a turbo sticker on the back?

Or would you take the Merc you have sitting beside it, and just hand the keys over to someone for free because it costs £300 a month to insure, but could be sold for 10k in 4 months time when you are able to get rid of it?

Davis has a good sell-on value though so he won't be released. He might get sold in the summer but not before. I'd imagine it'll be fringe players and those that'll have little transfer value when the window re-opens.

I'm honestly not on the wind up, or ripping the pish out of Rangers Gambol. I've got a few mates who work at Murray Park who are looking at loosing their job this week, and they have already been advised it's their gaffers who will make recommendations to the admins as to who stays or goes.

How McCoist can sit there and say it's not his job to the same smacks of being a ****ebag. He's a guy I've actually always liked when I've met him, but he's went down in my estimations over his comments on this.

If I had told my gaffer I was happy to take the wages of being a gaffer in my job, but didn't want to take the responsibilities that go with it, he would have punted me. Simple as that.

I would have thought it would be the admins decision, but I accept what you're saying if you know people inside Ibrox.

I just re-read the statement

Added to what OSP is saying that from inside it is knowledge that it is the various gaffer's job to decide who goes and not wholly the administrators then I would have to say...

If the decisions are yours to make Ally then it is your job to do it.

My take - McCoist will have the final say but won't deliver the bad news

So, he'll pussy out and still try to be a hero - issuing some statement about how he couldn't bring himself to do it and behind the scenes...."Pap the under-19s, chaps"

That's what I would expect too Trev.

Also Gambol, it is the admins say who is final on who goes. But from what the folk I know understand of it, it's basically along the lines of certain heads of departments being told how much they can keep spending, and then having to decide who to keep that stays within that budget.

No worries for a billionaire like Whytey, that's the sort of loose change that he'll find down the back of his settee in his harbour side Monaca mansion

thing is tho you could get decent transfer fees for both mcgregor and davies in the summer. you will probably get rid of alexander based on this then have to bring in a new keeper in the summer on the cheap.

why did whyte give these guys 6 year contracts in the summer? was it to try and maximise their potential value?

This seems contradictory:

RANGERS boss Ally McCoist has told the club’s administrators that holding on to key players could be worth almost £1million to the crisis-hit Ibrox outfit. The SPL champions are in a battle with Motherwell for second place in the SPL and the cost of missing out on that runners-up spot is £900,000.

The Light Blues head to Inverness for today’s tricky lunchtime clash before facing crucial games in the coming weeks against Hearts, Dundee United and Celtic and Motherwell. McCoist has, therefore, hammered home the point to Paul Clark and David Whitehouse of Duff & Phelps that keeping his top stars could mean more cash in the long run.
The SPL shell out £2.4m to the second-placed side, with £1.5m going to the team who finish third.
McCoist said: “I’ve pointed out the benefits of finishing higher up the league table to the administrators and the importance of finishing second.

“The financial rewards are there for everyone to see. There’s a big difference between finishing second and third. There’s the financial incentive and the reward of European football, if we’re allowed to get there.
“I’m not sure I had to mention it to the administrators but I did. Anything I can do to keep players I will do, within reason.
“It’s important to say the administrators don’t need to be football fans but I can encourage supporters by saying they do have good knowledge of football.
“I can’t speak for the players but I don’t think financial rewards to the club are an incentive to them. Hopefully they do what’s best for them and the club, then the financial rewards will come. I can appreciate how difficult it is for them.”

He's asking the admins to do his work and says he cannot make the difficult decisions but he's asking them to save the players he wants.
