Haha you don't know anything about football do you? Man U definitely do NOT play possession football as their default game.

You should try reading some commentaries- even MOTD got this right- Norwich mix it up, we can play several different styles and formations. We played tiki taka to beat Swansea, we played counter-attacking football to beat West Brom and we can play the long ball when we want to. Lambert clearly decided that we weren't going to beat Man U playing tappy stuff or your own game counter-attacking, so we put in some long balls today (funnily enough, fewer long balls than you did!)

And the foul Scholes did on Ward was a rock-solid penalty- Scholes knew by the guilty look on his face afterwards and they reckoned so on the day, but we all know the big teams get the referee decision more often than not, so we just shrug it off. And the ball clearly hit Evra's elbow, but no surprise the ref wouldn't give that either- we all know that if he'd got that right, SAF would have got the ref demoted

At the end of the day, the better team lost, but being the better team doesn't give you points on the board, well done. I'm really surprised that considering how dominant Man U have been how you fans are so aggressive, arrogant and ignorant. You'd have thought, being by far and away the best football team of the last twenty years, you lot would have been able to rise above it and be complimentary when little teams like us put up a good fight (certainly your manager is able to). Man City fans were much less obnoxious

He has a very valid point. Some of the reds fans on here appear to have even bigger chips on their shoulders than that horrible shower from QPR.
Which considering how much your club has achieved under Fergie is surprising and very disappointing.
At least our fans are gracious in defeat - when and where appropriate, and offer congrats and credit where it's due.

Some of your obnoxious fans would do well to take a leaf out of our book now and again <ok>

First of all, Norwich played very well for most of the game and were unlucky as they fully deserved something from the game, but to say that Scholes challenge was a rock solid penalty is laughable. It won't be long before sliding tackles are outlawed completely in the game the way it's going and now a simple shoulder challenge for a ball that was there to be fought over (against a much bigger man I might add who should not of been pushed over so easily) is being talked about as being a foul, are you really being serious are just biased? If he had used his arm or elbow and pushed him over I would say you had a case, but he's just standing there and gives him a little nudge shoulder to shoulder.

I must admit I didn't think either were penalties. If they had been given against us we would have been outraged. To be fair to Sir Alex he was very complimentary about us.

Re the Scholes 'penalty' incident. I've seen them given before for that type of challenge. If we had been given the penalty, I wouldn't have complained, but if it had happened the other way around, I'd have been livid.
I don't think it was a blatant penalty at all. Maybe if the players 'hardened' up a bit, then we wouldn't have these 'was it - wasn't it' discussions.

As for the Evra incident, again, I've seen them given. In my eyes, handball is if a player gians an unfair advantage, whether he meant to or not.
Sorry fellow Canary fans, I saw it as the ball hitting his elbow, and his arms weren't particulary raised in my opinion, for him to be able to control the ball and gain an unfair advantage.

Just calling it as I saw it.

I do think, however, that we did play well enough to get a point at least. The signs are there that we will cope, not only this season, but for seasons to come.

Don't think the ref can be blamed for anything that happened in that match, at the end of the day the only real 2 moments were guys got left unmarked they scored, and same with Holt's goal, another day it wouldn't of gone in.

Any idea why, after a lively return last week in the cup game, James Vaughan wasn't even on the bench? I'm assuming Wilbrahamovic got the tactical nod ahead of Vaughan - rather than a recurrence of the knee problems which have blighted his career to date.

My 2p:

Norwich were very impressive yesterday. I remember Lambert from his days at Dortmund and he seems to have built an organised side in a short time and on a limited budget.

The mistake that Norwich didn't make, was to go all out to get the equaliser. I thought they would run themselves into the ground like many teams seem to when they are chasing the game, and get picked off. Instead, they came out for the 2nd half with a measure of calm. They plugged away and continually probed for the goal. Holt's goal was very well taken and totally deserved.

It was only after the equaliser was bagged that it went tits up and they failed where so many teams do. They tried to see out the game and in doing so, invited us at them.

Good luck to them for the rest of the season. If they stay injury free and keep playing like that then they will be comfortably in the top half of the table come May <applause>

Two other small points;

The chip from Naughton to Pilkington was sublime.

Why any of you would want Holt in the England team is a mystery. Sure, it would be a measure of recognition but playing for England hasn't exactly brought particularly good dividends for any England player in about 20-odd years. At best, he can be married to the next big disappointing showing at a big tournament and at worse, get injured or booed off by the fickle masses.

i think you misunderstand why any city fan would want holt to get a call up. it's because it would be the pinnacle for him and his career to go from being a non-league player, work his way through the divisions and then get an england cap. not many players can claim they've taken the long route and his has been longer and more diverse than most! he fully deserves a call up and he is better than the three strikers currently in the squad on current form, and i include welbeck in that too, though i appreciate he will probably be a better player long term. how campbell gets a call up after 3, yes 3 games is a disgrace really. sturridge hasn't even played up front for chelsea this season! holt and danny graham should both have been included but we all know they won't. i even read this morning that pearce is considering calling up rickie lambert from southampton! the international set up makes my blood boil <grr>

Agree with you there - I've seen them given but it's usually for an inexperienced player or a forward who makes it look blatant (Berbatov against Blackburn is a good example of that). Most experienced defenders or CMs get away with those nudges and tugs in the box all the time cos they know exactly how to do it so the ref can't be certain. Terry and Rio are two of the best at it - Scholesy has obviously been learning from them!

The arm was also raised in front of his head to protect his face. From the looks of the replay, if it hadn't hit his elbow it would have carried straight on an hit him in the head, hence the cross still wouldn't have gone in and hence no real advantage. Tho' like you say they sometimes get given, and everyone knows raising your arms in the box (even if they're in front of your face) is a risk.

Agree again - the only difference today was the quality of finishing. Giggs got a half chance at the back post and flicked it in, Holt got a decent chance from that header but hit it straight at De Gea. On such margins are games (and hopefully league championships! ;)) decided.

You must remember that players don't get selected on current form, as it should be, but on past merit. This current england squad is frankly embarassing, we should be picking young, exciting talent like Oxlade Chamberlain, Naughton, Graham and Ruddy, and a decent 2nd striker like Holt, who will give 110% every game, not like the muppets (defoe, crouch, bent, heskey, vassell, carroll)

Carson (plays for some random, uncompetitive team in Turkey ffs, hardly difficult to appear good saving from conference-level strikers)

Green (liability, but better than Carson, should be him, Hart and Ruddy)

Defence, happy with the balance of youth and experience, please don't revert to the dinosaurs Terry and Ferdinand ever again.

Barry (too old, should retire internationally)

Young (over-rated IMO, Oxlade-Chamberlain offers a better threat)

Bent (waste of space and 90 minutes, polluting the england shirt)

to be fair to gareth barry i think he's having an excellent season so on form he should be included. agree naughton can't be too far away either but its players like downing and walcott (yesterday excepted) who have been awful all year long but get in because of reputation alone that annoys me.

as for the two penalty incidents yesterday, i think scholes challenge was a foul anywhere else on the pitch but it was quite subtle and i can understand why it was missed while the evra handball was never a penalty in a million years - not sure why people are even suggesting it was – clearly ball to hand and he was about 12 inches away!!

I have no idea why the England manager gets paid so much money as the job involves very little work.

Stick Terry and Ferdinand at the back, Lampard and Gerrard in the middle and Rooney and someone else up front and hope for the best. £6million please.

Speaking of cup finals, your players seemed to celebrate like you had won the FA Cup when Giggs scored...

Anyway, Man City are the "cup final" team now, after all, they are currently the No.1 team in Manchester and the country.

Congrats on the victory and good luck for the rest of the season.

Strange to see players celebrate an injury time winner when they are challenging for the title isn't it ?

I'm going to ignore the second part.

I think Norwich have put in a really good account of themselves so far this season and wish them luck for their remaining games <ok>

That's okay mate, I was only joking. Comas99 has been pretty disrespectful to us. I just thought I would turn his logic against him.
