Morning all,

Two of interest to me today -

3.15 Rocky Ryan - Already been nibbled in the market and looks primed to run a big race here on return from a layoff. Blinkers on for the first time and AP riding for Jim Best. He could be a bit better than this mark and the yard thought a fair bit about him before his lay off (RP notes suggest just that).

2.15 Primaries - import for the Ferguson yard. The yard are in really good form and their two runners yesterday both looked really well. This race will not take too much winning and I think this one can make a winning debut in the sphere.

    Good luck all

Edit - Thought I would just share one photo from yesterday at Towcester... I don't normally back a winner!

Guys, I will be bringing back a spotlight thread on Wednesday. We are about to enter the 2 week Cheltenham countdown so I will have one or two things lined up.

Im busy all day at work, but if you have any specific horses in mind please tell me in this thread.

Hopefully we'll have a really good build up!

Morning Nass - agreed on the Best horse, backed him last night.

I do think it significant that Alan King sends just the one horse down to Plumpton, with Robert Thornton taking the ride on Kings Bayonet in the first. Kings Bayonet made his hurdles debut in a hot class 3 maiden won by Darlan (beaten 26 lengths) and then was dropped to a class 4 where he ran into some more decent types in Ile De Re and Cry Of Freedom (again beaten 26 lengths). He has hinted at ability in both races but has tended to empty out quite quickly after being keen throughout the race. Dropped down to class 5 today and if he can settle a little better I think he can win this.

    Best of luck everyone <ok>

Toppy I think we said we should be having a hurdler for the next spotlight thread - there is one that we've not yet discussed to death and that is Boston Bob. His target race is also still open so room for some discussion there. Other possible could be Oscar Whiskey. I think the Champion Hurdle horses have been done to death already on various threads. Just a thought mind ...........................

Morning, troops. Nothing for me today but I guess at old Wolverhampton punters will be wondering if both Derivatives (3.30) and Duke of Clarence (5.30) can finally oblige and win their maidens. Whatever happens let’s just hope that the latter has more luck than his namesake who was, of course, executed for treason back in the days of old Edward IV. And allegedly he met his end by being drowned in a butt of malmsey wine!

Good luck to those who do wager today though.

Good morning all... Well what a weekend of sport... Strange game at Wembley yesterday but it got to edge of your seat stuff for both sets of fans at the end... The English do have some fight in them and were unlucky to get beaten by the Welsh at Twickers... And all my picks on saturday decided to have the day off and have a nice stroll around the various courses that were down to compete in...!!! Oh well...

So to another 2 card monday again, lets see... One i did see was Rocky Rya... oh sorry... already picked...<whistle>

See if i can pick one of my own then...<laugh><laugh>

Richard Hughes and Ryan Moore joined faves to win the ‘Flat crown’, I see. Both 4/1. The ‘King’ looks most appealing at 5/1 meanwhile. Hanaghan pushed out to 7/1 as a result of his new job.

Joe Fanning as low as 10/1 with Ladbrokes who obviously think that he will come in for most of De Sousa’s former rides.

I like the way they plough on with their rehearsed speech which takes them about 20 seconds. It allows my anger to build up nicely such that, when they are finished, I've got a lovely "NO **** OFF AND DIE" ready <laugh>
