He knows the players best. He should know who's most valuable to the team in the long term and who isn't but he's not prepared make the sort of decision a manager should make.

    For me, a coward.

Surely he's talking ****e here so the blame for players getting dunted doesn't land at his door? Who else but the football manager could make these decisions?

If he is being honest here then he is a first class coward.

    I'd go for option C - Pussy <ok>

Over the last couple of weeks, he's become rent-a-rhetoric - saying exactly what the nutters want to hear.

He'll come out of this a Rangers legend simply because he says what they all want to hear.

    Pussy <ok>

I still can't believe that McCoist's soundbites have become some sort of Churchillian battlecry of epic proportions, given just how many people have walked away (err none).

"I have a dream" - Martin Luther King
"Blood and Iron" - Otto Von Bismarck
"We don't do walking away" - Ally McCoist

    Like Greig?

He's about as good a manager as Greig and that **** "walked away" in the end.

If Ally gets his books, he'll be greeting on the news while thousands of trumpets beat themselves aff to his empty epithets.

Get knocked out of four cups with one of the most expensively assembled squads in history?

    <laugh>

He says the right thing and you all forget that he's failed repeatedly already.

...and to think of all the pish you lot spouted about Lennon last season <laugh>

He blew a 15 point lead when you had an almost full squad to call upon (only Naismith was out).

Let's put it another way: when we beat you 1-0 in December you started with a front line that cost £7.8m (Jelly and Lafferty) and the team also included players like Davis, Aluko, Wallace and McGregor.

He's been KO'd from four competitions by Malmo, Malibor, Falkirk and Dundee Utd.

So yes, I would say there are plenty of other managers who could do better.

Why would it be a joke - do you know how much your squad at the start of the season cost?

The only other team in the history of Scottish football to have squads that cost more than Jelavic, Naismith, Lafferty etc etc were Rangers and Celtic.

No other team in Scotland could come close to the money you've spent on your squad.

"Look paw, look, there still doin' the "nae dough" stuff - yuck, yuck"

The team that took the field and lost 1-0 to Malmo cost about £20m to put together.

All bar one of them (Wallace) was signed by that master of the cheque book, old Wally himself <ok>

to my credit I said at the time, we were a one man team (naisy) and feared the worst.

    Aw ****....

I am with Alastair on this one. The culling of players is going to be based on contract lengths and pay. These are commercial decisions, not footballing ones.

If he doesn't have the sway on that, he shouldn't carry the can for telling boys to **** off.....

But for the sake of humour, he's a pussy.

    Rebs

Two players on similar salaries and similar lengths of contracts. One has to go. Who should make that decision? A glorified accountant or the manager?

McCoist had a great start to the season, minor blip opening game, then went on a good run ending with Naisy's injury. We imploded after that just as Celtic started the run of form they are still enjoying. We'll never know if he could have turned it around because then the **** really hit the fan.

eveything we did came through naisy, his link up play was second to none and he scored a lot of goals. He made McCoist look competent IMO. every manager loses a good player. he never found a way to fill the void. It's a shame really beacuse this season could of been a cracker for the nuetral.

PS I got hounded out of FF for my views on naisy being our only good player. <doh>
