    Downing was also excellent today, and Kuyt should have started.

    He was immense, but I think Kuyt made the biggest impression on the match and should have been MotM, and not Downing, but hopefully that will give Downing some confidence.

    Downing didn't play that well imo, Kuyt was good when he came on but how Skrtel wasn't MOTM is beyond me. Anyway who cares.

    Skrtel was great but was at fault for their first goal. Dropped deep and played everyone onside. Apart from that - pretty faultless.

    Thought Suarez was pretty quiet today as well, and apart from Downing rest of the midfield were ordinary. Gerrard had about 4 shots all of which were high and wide. Adam had a few decent efforts but Henderson was poor.

    Gerrard and Adam were ordinary. Henderson was a couple of levels below them

    Henderson was really disappointing, because he's become quite a good player over the course of this season. I was expecting Gerrard to fire in a screamer at some point, but to say he had a bad game would be harsh- it's only because we expect him to produce a magical match-winning moment.

    Adam's penalty was obscene.
