Actually, Bukta was the original British sportswear brand and was very good in it's heyday, it just turned to **** in the 80's. It was the Man United kit manufacturer in the Best/Charlton era and it's first kit deal was with Forest in 1884. It shut down several years ago, but has recently been re-launched as a premium sport/fashion brand. Here endeth the history lesson.
What about Avec or Patrick? Didn't both go out of business after City had done deals with them to make our kits?
No, it's Patrick day of celebration today!! Thousands of years in the (Sainting) business, and still going strong!!!!
Patrick and Avec are both French and are still going, though I don't think they do anything in the UK.
I stand corrected but those boots didn't half wind me up. I've just remembered a lad at school who had an Ipswich shirt made by 'coffer sports' That was fairly cack, this was at the time when their kit was made by adidas. For some reason I had an Ipswich shirt, it was in the time of Mariner, Mills,Osman ,Wark etc and that was adidas. The necky ****ers at Coffer must have just banged a load of snides out ,wouldn't get away with it these days.
Hang on a minute, when it comes to labels, marketing and fashion I'm pretty much on the ball.I probably know a lot more than you in any case OLM.
Matchwinner everytime! I was very impressed with the Umbro quality. The detail was excellent, the 2008 promotion season shirt has actually got morse code around the sleeve which says either 'This is football' or 'Football by Umbro' (cannot remember which as it has been a while). Either way it was an impressive level of effort to go to!
Brilliant - a Hetchins! I had a 'Curly' Hetchins, made to measure, bought through Jack Kirk on Ferensway, in 1961. You've just about made me cry!
