Fantastic from Seabass to get up to win. Looked beat having bungled the last two but superb from Ruby and the horse to win it. Also fantastic effort from Ted Walsh too. Two massive improvers in Hunt Ball yesterday and Seabass today.
As for the Powers Gold Cup, The Bog would surely be a cut above Rathlin, but I suppose the latter would be an able deputy in the event of quickish ground.
4.25 Towcester Coda Agency 66/1 Looks Brendan Powell's second string but this looks a big price for a horse who has 2 wins from 4 starts at the course and who looks on quite a good mark. Although pulled up on his last start, I thought he travelled well on ground that was probably a little too testing and he should come on for that a bit. A winner here off a mark of 108 over C+D in 2008, he's fallen a long way in the weights to a mark of 90 and with the jockey's claim he's now on a mark on an effective mark of 93. With Powell in a bit of form and this a very big price I'm willing to have a small dabble that he bounces back to form in a big way at a course he has secured his only 2 wins to date.
True Zen...however,it is just about far enough after the festival for SDC et al to have the option as well.
Just made it Oddy! nice forecast..good ride from the amateur u top...he won't get home at C'ham imo..never had him as a stayer.
Congrats Lads. Barbers Shop wins but in many ways posed more questions then he gave answers. It could still be argued that the extended trip might be beyond him.
Get in BS...days just dont get much better....any chance of my headline selection winning now too? No way does Barbers Shop win the Foxhunters imho
The second was 686 days off the track - is he entered in the Foxhunters? Cracking effort Little dabble on McCoy at Towcester - love him in these big field handicaps
