It is with utter dismay and disgust that I feel I am obliged to write to the BBC following last Friday nights edition of Mastrmind on BBC2. I had just settled down for what I thought would be a pleasant evening of intellectual stimulation and what am I served up by the BBC - a scummer on Mastermind and not only that but the scummer was allowed to broadcast absolute filth on prime time TV by answering questions on the history of the scum.

Don't the BBC realise this was before the 9 o'clock watershed (it would have been bad enough afterwards - but beforehand is just unbelievable) and there is a distict possibility of children watching such depravity. Fortunately my 8 year old was out of the room sorting out his Chamionship Football Stickers (a scum free zone - for many years thankfully) - but that isn't the point - children of very impressional ages could have picked up un-necessary and psychologically harming influences from this programme. I bet there are many parents now who will have difficulties getting their little ones to sleep for many nights to come as they suffer from nightmares and trauma.

I just don't know what this country is coming to allowing scummers to broadcast openly and freely about the scum. This clearly is not good enough - is this what we fought two world wars for - I think not.

I urge all decent Watford fans to write their concerns to the BBC - this appalling situation no doubt effected the team so badly they couldn't bring themselves to play yesterday and we need to make sure that is the end of it.

I see the "Mastermind" chose a very small window of their filthy history to answer questions on - of course I boycotted the whole squalid programme, but you can bet they did not ask for a list of pubs they have smashed up or the number of children abused for having the audacity of wearing an opposition scarf. It really should not come as any surprise, it is just another example of the BBC's current dumbing down.

In fairness, there isn't a person in the country with a memory big enough to recite them all.

One of "them" entered with his specialist topic of The Dirty Gypo's history...and he got through. I also read somewhere he was a member of the clergy - I thought they had all been exposed!

Am I the only person who finds this simplistic stereotyping of other fans, whoever they support, irritating? I know from personal experience our own fans are a pretty mixed bunch...
