I think it's been four. Hill, Barton, Cisse and Diakite. It's down to ill discipline and sheer bloody stupidity. Along with soft and ridiculous rules on tackling and making contact with opponents imposed by the authorities.

3 of the 4 have cost us points, Wed have beaten Norwich and Wolves and would have got at least a point against Fulham.

I think that will be the difference between us going down or staying up, sheer stupidity.

Didn't Traore get sent off as well, prompting verbals from NW as he walked off.

That was near the end and like Hills, didnt cost us, the other 3 were in the 1st half and we would have been 6-9 points better off if they hadnt been stupid.

It galls me too that they've been winnable matches - I can't recall any red cards in our matches against the top 6 except for 2 against Chelscum back in the fall

I think Cisse's sending off could be the turning point of our season. We were all over Wolves and with him on the field we'd have got 3 points. That would have given us the confidence to approach the rest of our easier run of games and get something more from them than we have.

Cisse's sending off was brainless but Diakite's went beyond even that. He made so many bad tackles in such a short space of time that he was clearly an accident waiting to happen. I said to my son he should be hauled off - unfortunately, I wanted MH to trigger his exit, not the ref.

Yes of course he did Eamon. It's like a roll call of shame.
Five off and all at home, that is shocking.

Its an absolute joke. I don't think I've seen anything like it. You'd think it was a conspiracy. The players clearly have no qualms about letting their teammates down and leaving them a man short for the majority of the match. In excusable and unforgiveable.

Totally agree & it's not just costing us badly in the games they get sent off in, missing another 3 games when by the time they joined in the case of Cisse, Diakite probably mean missing almost a 3rd of the remaining fixtures:angry:

Having Cisse for Blackburn, Fulham, Everton would really having given us a more of chance in picking up points in these matches so they're brainless actions are probably costing us more than 3 points:angry::angry:

You've had bad luck bad attitudes and bad refs in equal measure but i don't think you can claim you'd have been guaranteed 7 points but for red cards.

Fulham were cutting through you with ease when you had 11 on the pitch, they eased off once you didn't.

And when we played you you were 1 goal to the good, a score line we've overturned a lot.

As for wolves they've got the best record of getting something from a losing position in the league with 14 points salvaged. You currently have the record for losing points from winning positions, with 15 points lost.

I'm not trying to be an ass hole here, the point i'm trying to make is that the red cards are a problem, but don't scapegoat them for all your troubles, as there's clearly something more seriously wrong in the team that needs to be dealt with.
