Watching the Arsenal v Spurs game and Bale has just dived for a penalty so spurs now lead 2-0! I've said it once and I'll say it again. Any player that gets caught cheating (diving, faking an injury, fighting) should be given an automatic 3 match ban! It would cut out cheating straight away. I don't care if Bale did used to play for Saints he is a cheat and not for the first time.
Totally agree, it couldn't really be every player though, you'd have to be absolutely certain they'd tried to cheat. But harshly punishing even a few would be enough of a disincentive.
He did dive but he could have won a penalty in any case. I actually thought it was clever. Won a penalty and didn't get clattered. It's great if it goes for you, but awful when it's against you. I think that's why the referee didn't book the keeper because Technically he didn't touch him. It's a very subjective one and arguments can easily be made for and against. Still think Bale is the best player on show alongside RVP.
Get used to players diving all over the place if we get promoted We will need to someone in to train our guys how to do it as well as the prem teams otherwise we will be left behind like Norwich were early season
Should add to my last comment that I haven't seen this incident, so am not making a call on whether Bale dived yet!
Yeah, it sounded like it was the best goal ever. Hate listening to matches on the radio, commentators get so excited. As soon as someone crosses the halfway line it sounds like they are going to score.
What's to stop them reviewing the footage after the game? Example: Say Spurs won 2-0, the next day announce that he is banned for diving. Shoe the evidence on Sky. And move on.
Sounds like a cracking game, should be in the pub watching it not at f**king work. So hard to judge a dive unless it is blatent. Even on MOTD, Goals on Sunday etc, there is always strong debate as to wether something was a dive or not and that is using all the different camera angles, slow mo etc. Players get worked out by the referees and if they get a reputation for diving the ref is less inclined to give them even if they are pens. Ronaldo and Drogba have had blatent ones turned down in the past.
