We didn't play in Europe, You really are a bit of a **** wit aren't you?

Silly, pointless question. There are numerous reasons for supporting whichever team, I'm just fortunate to be a Leeds United fan.

Now can you answer my question re your European success?

You're right, you didn't play in Europe.

And do you know why you didn't play in Europe?

It's because you didn't win anything. In fact, you haven't achieved anything in ten years.

No, Blues have never won a European cup, but we are a club for the present and the future, whilst Leeds are a club of the past.

Keep clinging to your (minor) successes of 40 years ago; they're all you've got.

You can weep tears of joy over your scrapbook as you remember the good old days and try to forget today's miseries and the fact that your players are leaving you for the likes of Birmingham, but those distant memories are only getting further away. The sunshine has long gone, and there are storms up ahead.

    Ta ra!

Your maths is shocking. 1st Division Champions 1991-92, I'd say that's 20 years ago!

When did Brum last win the league?

A club for the present, you're in The Championship getting beat by relegation fodder Notts Forest. Which of our players abandoned us for you, Townsend is a Spurs player who's had 9 clubs at the tender age of 20, hardly someone to worry about! He's obviously a muppet.

Why is it better to be Leeds than Brum?

Because we're a genuinely exciting club who've meant something over the years, and still do. Birmingham City are just reputed for being the least noteworthy club in the West Midlands, if you can even call that a reputation.

They were the first English team to beat Brugge, which is apparently some sort of remarkable achievement. Oh yeah, and they took 8,000 to one game, which puts our fans to shame if you totally forget the fact we were taking around that number to loads of European games in the 90s/00s and had the highest average away attendance in the entire Champions League in 00-01.

Is being a mediocre second tier club exciting?

If it is so good to be a Leeds fan, then what's with the need to cling onto the distant past?

The fact is, Blues are better than Leeds, have been for nearly ten years, and will be for a long time.

That's rich coming from a Leeds fan. I've never seen a Blues fan do a nazi salute, for a start, and it's clear from this board that most Leeds fans are racist.

And I don't think I mentioned anything about the size of our club. In fact, the only fans that ever mention size are those of clubs with nothing else.

    Leeds, for example.

In its own ways, yes. The constant late goals, dubious refereeing decisions both ways, high-scoreline games in one of the most exciting divisions in the world, the hugely popular away days, the ongoing feud with the club. It's a pretty exciting club to follow.

No-one 'clings' to that. No more than Arsenal or Liverpool fans, say, remember their glorious pasts. There's no harm in pride.

I'm not disputing that, except the last clause. When Bates leaves/dies, I think we'll be flying again.
