It's a shame Wilshere's "injured" for this one
Indeed. Such a quality player.
Most of that video is just him getting fouled and giving the ball away. LOL at it being a reserve game too
Getting fouled because the players in your midfield could not get near him. Quality player and showed that by bossing that game. Reserve game? Bet you claimed otherwise when you won 5-1 in the same competition.
OK now let's have a look at real quality.
Sandro,Palacios and Livermore. That is a tough midfield for a creative player like Wilshere to shine against. He did really well to find himself the time to control that game from midfield.
Add an absolutely uncreative central midfield, two of which were totally inexperience at that level, to a bizarre wide selection (Bentley on the left, Dos Santos on the right) and it's not surprising that we didn't perform that day. With Caulker, Naughton and Pletikosa adding to the lack of games in a Spurs shirt and a disinterested and isolate Pavlyuchenko playing a role that he's useless in, it's surprising that it went to extra-time, to be honest. Not Redknapp's finest hour.
Whatever happened to him? Also Caulker, has looked like a quality player for Swansea. One for the future in terms of England and sadly for Spurs too.
Pletikosa didn't play again for us after that, for some reason, then cancelled his contract with Spartak Moscow in order to join Celtic. The deal fell through though, leaving him without a club. He joined FC Rostov (Russian Prem) in August. Caulker does look like a top prospect and it's nice to see him picking up experience at a club that play the game in an attractive way. He's being touted as King's eventual successor, so there's a lot of hope for him.
